[Q] NlpWakeLock and the different Location Services options [detailed]
I need an explanation about the NlpWakeLock process and the different decentralized options of location services. It's draining my battery, 10% per 5 hours. I've tested it with "Wakelock Detector" app.
I've already read the Google article
, but it isn't very clear at all.
Here they are my device and settings:
[[ Android ICS 4.0.4 ]]
** Settings -> Location Services
|_____________ Wifi location = on (shows a dialog telling that Google will collect and send anonymous data, is this NplWakeLock process? 1)
|_____________ GPS = off
|_____________ Google search based on your history = off (what's the difference with the Location History option from Google Maps app? 2)
** Google Maps App -> Google Location settings
|_____________ Location Reports = off
|_____________ Location History = off (what happens if it is "on" and Reports are "off"? does it keeps sending data? 3)
** Google Settings app -> Android Device Manager
|_____________ Locate Device remotelly = on (is it collecting data periodically or it just activates when a solicitude to locate it is given? 4)
|_____________ Let block it remotelly and factory reset = on (idem as above)
So, those were my particular questions, I added numbers next to them to make it easier to answer.
If anyone knows something about it is welcome
and I think it would be useful for anyone googling it later.
