I can't access direct links posted at the OP. Also "http://110.11.20.47:81/matc/...etc." links inside MATCL forums. How come? Is it a server problem or is it just me?

Default 3G/4G on Galaxy Note SHV-E160L with T-mobile USA

Is anyone with a Korean Galaxy Note SHV-E160L/K/S able to get 3G/4G Signal on their galaxy note device?

I bought a T-mobile SIM card for my phone(SHV-E160L) I'm able to get only G signal on my phone even though I'm in a 4G plan.
T-mobile are crooks....I ask them before buying the sIm card and they this me the phone is compatible and now they're saying I can't get it cos the phone is on different bandwidth or something like that.

Is anyone in USA having similar issues and were you able to resolve it?
Thanks.

Yeah I did that... the password for 160L is 0821
I tried setting it to all the options it gives
These are the Data network options:
Automatic
LTE ONLY
GSM ONLY
CDMA ONLY
WCDMA
GSM & CDMA ONLY
EVDO ONLY
1x EVDO

The only connections I get is with GSM only and GSM & CDMA ONLY and I get only "G" speed
The others don't get any connections at all.
Are you within The States...if so what Mobile Network are you with?
.

if I do Flashing with Rooted Stock FW, It's ok if I'm GB or I must upgrade to ICS or JB before doing Flashing with Rooted Stock FW ?

My answer may be wrong here but the setting related to hsdpa/3g etc are stored in the nvram of sorts, network provided ones generally get programmed with only their profiles and freq's, these are stren in a qcn file, i dont know if anyone has transposed additional setting into a device, i know i edited my nvram to enable Edge which didnt work before. I hope that answer your question.

Hi, I have a SHV-E160S which recently got soft-bricked (for non-rooting/flashing, don't know how it happened) which I can't seem to resurrect. I have no idea what firmware this phone was on before, as it isn't mine but my mom's (she gave it to me and it would get stuck on the Samsung logo loading screen).

I've tried flashing the UH24 rooted tar (linked on the first post) and the UH24 stock rom as well (from the pspmastersite) and Odin just seems to fail.

I was however, able to successfully flash a FD05 stock rom (also from pspmaster), but the problem is that once it starts up, I get stuck on the "Press Android to Continue" screen. I'm able to press buttons and the phone responds for around 5 seconds before the screen freezes up, and the only buttons that work are the Power Button (which causes the screen to turn off/on) and the Home Button.

Also, I've tried flashing some recovery roms (Tegrak and CWM) but neither can mount my SD properly, so I can't fully install the zip files on my external SD.

Help me, xda-developers. You're my only hope.

I'm not in the USA, but I am able to get UMTS (3G) and HSPA (3.5G) signal from my carrier with zero problems. I didn't even have to configure anything. I just popped in the micro SIM and it works. I have an SHV-E160K. My only problem now is that I can't see to get LTE to work. I'm pretty sure that my carrier's LTE band supports the E160K since the E160K is LTE 1800 Mhz and my carrier supports LTE 850, 1800 and 2100 Mhz.

I've only had this phone for a few days now, but I seem to be missing an "LTE" option in Options > Mobile Networks > Network Setting > RAT Mode Settings. Only Automatic, WCDMA only, and GSM/GPRS only appears.

I dialed *#*#4636#*#* to access the test menu, and under 'Phone Information' everything from WCDMA preferred, GSM auto (PRL), EVDO only, etc. appeared. I don't see "LTE" anywhere. Only "Turn on/off LTE RAM dump". I also accessed the KT Admin menu via *#*#319712358#*#* and changed the band from 'Automatic' to 'LTE' and I don't get a signal. My carrier says there is LTE signal where I am located.

BTW, when I acquired the phone it already had a custom ICS ROM by Eruizhi so it's clean of bloatware and Korean apps, as well as no SMS limit. My question is this: is it possible that LTE may somehow be disabled on this ROM? This custom ROM is made by a guy from China after all and last time I checked, no carriers in China support LTE.
