[ROM] AOKP (4.2.2) (Beta) For the Samsung Epic 4g - 03/06/2013

Orginal posted in MMS thread, but I though ther migh be a rom fix here so.

I am having a heck of a time getting MMS working.

So abt 2mo ago I was haveing issues. Tried running tpr (which got it working again), but really missed ICS, Aokp.

Well reinstalled it, MS6 and everything was good for abt a month. Out of the blue it just stopped, I tried setting from MMS thread in OP, but that didnt help with what I set/changed, but op didn't give much in the way of other settings.

Well I had a backup from 1mo back when everthing was good, but that restore, did NOT get MMS working again. So I did a CWM Factory restore, and did a fresh install of MS6, still no luck, so I installed CM7 everythink working there, did a backup of APN settings and reinstalled clean MS6, even deleted all "Telephony" entries (other than apk) . Still no MMS, was going to restore apn, but I guess u can't on ICS.

I want to be back on aokp, but really need MMS, any ideas on what I can do? Any one have the full settings?? Will a oldin then a fresh install help? MMS Is workn now fine on CM7.

Any chance we could get an official Jelly Bean version of AOKP? I noticed Crespo has a official build and I know we are uber similar since I am running the modem on the unofficial aokp rom and was wondering if there is a thread coming soon sorry this is not an eta just wondering if alias is still manning the helm or anyone else

Honestly, the likelihood of us getting builds beyond M6 is getting slimmer by the day. Alias did say that he lady now has his Epic 4G, but chances are high that he won't continue to build for this device.

He did try to get everything in line to have our device officially supported by teamkang, but he left this forum without any further follow up on the matter.

Well thankfully they did a crespo one and I know xboxfanj has done some porting with that so we still have a silver lining there with future builds that may come

I think someone will pick up the slack, eventually. Didn't Alias mention that Epic 4g was officially supported by AOKP?

One big downside of JB (for me, personally) is that there is no way of forcing roam on it as of yet. I use Roam Control to force roam fairly often in areas where there's poor Sprint coverage, and so far there is no JB update by its dev, Mr Greg.

That says there are issues. CM10 is not close even to be a glint in the EpicTeam's eyes. What makes you think that a ROM based off of CM10 will work when CM10 does not?

When things are setup and running well AND the EpicTeam releases CM10, then... Will I pick up and start building again. Mind you, I don't build halfassed and I want a good product for you all, not some eye candy that reboots every 10 minutes. Who wants that?

I don't like previews or extreme pre-alpha builds. I cannot troubleshoot and bugfix deep in the code... Aka kernel, firmware, drivers etc. Just not at that level yet.

If Marcus/xbox wants to winzip or build from source and take a shot at giving a preview, then by all means.

But, in no way have I gone anywhere. Just relaxing. By the way, I still have two Epics. o.-

First off, I've been using CM9 since January and never ran AOKP before but after messing with CM10 kangs for a few weeks figured I'd give it a try since Crespo modem is now supported with it. Gotta say, wow, love it. So much I put it on my wife's OG Epic too. Great job Alias, thanks for putting this out for all us.

Read your post 3027 about releasing kangs and about how you don't kang. I get that. Respect that. Only irony is the name of this ROM says kang and the fact its from Team Kang. Just sayin. lol

Just one question for whomever knows ... I saw unicorn porn in Titanium. Appears there is an easter egg or something... is that right? How do you make it pop? It's important cause my wife doesn't like unicorns and already swapped out the aokp uni-rainbow wallpaper (I thought it was right up her ally!?). Want to leave her a present next time she picks it up.

OK so its source which is good...so now I have another question this rom supports boot audio and works good just by dropping the file in the correct folder ...now can any onyone tell me what are the actual files within the rom that allow the boot audio to play
