You can make a cust ROM out of it yourself...
Here are the bin and fls file, you need to flash. Then take the superuser.zip from the thread above and flash it from within CWM and you have V20a and root

am using LG-P970-V20a brght frm UAE

not able to root with any one clock solution..

writing this coz

That's because this thread is OLD bro... Look at my noob how to post #3 and find the download page for all kdz files. Take the UAE one, download the bin/fls extractor tool, that's mentioned, extract it, patch it with cwm, push superuser.zip to your sdcard, flash the bin and fls file with smartflash, install the superuser.zip, reboot, have fun. That's as easy, as it is.

Like I said above, do it yourself. If you are too lazy, that definitly is not my problem. Maybe wait for someone else to do it for you.

i made and done evrythng myself.. but i want here to make others do everythng at one place..
if u can give access and authority I wil write clear instructions and bin/fls file for V20A UAE verison..

Thanks for the file nooby. I've been trying to get re-rooted for a couple days now since flashing v28. Not sure if I've had bad files or what. On a side note does Ubuntu terminal act as dd for slipstreaming cwm into bin? Anyways not sure how I got it rooted the first time but I had one hell of a time this go at it. Thanks again

Instructions to Root LG 970 (V20A)

Instructions to Root V20A


Friends have a peace of mind.

Now Rooting V20A is much easier with clear Instructions and with only single file Download.!

1. Download and extract it on your Desktop

2. You will get Folder "ROOTv20a"

3. Open folder you will get folders "[PATCHED]V20A" "SFT" and "Superuser"

4. Copy Superuser.zip in your SD-card !!DO NOT EXTRACT!!

5. Power-off LG Optimus Black

6. Press and Hold Volume + Button and insert your USB cable.

7. You'll Enter to Upgrade mode and see S/W upgrade please wait while upgrading

8. Run B_SmartFlashTool.exe from SFT folder on your Computer

9. Choose ROM copy D/L tab

10. Choose CP file: LGP970_V20A_CP.fls

11. Choose AP file: [PATCHED]LGP970_V20A_AP.bin

12. Click Start

13. after successfully flashing


Phone will reboot in recovery mode

14. Wipe all data/factory reset
15. Install from SD Card and select Superuser.zip
16. Reboot system now

phone will boot and you have V20A Gingerbread with Root and Touch Version of Clockwork Mode.
