[Q] "Recovery Booting"... NOT EVER? S4 i337/i9505 AT&T CM 10.2
From the Verizon thread with MF3 because it turns out when I put in CM 10.2 into my S4 that is what shows up in my About Device now... and my device behaves about like that... they suggested I put my thread into here... so here I am.
I have a galaxy S4 i337 / i9505 AT&T US 32GB with 64GB SDCard with CM 10.2 09102013 JB 4.22 Recovery was Rouge before something else flashed over it and then because null. The Phone still has ROOT, which is the only save grace right now. I need help of experts.
I can't get into recovery.
"Recovery Booting"... is what it says and stay saying when I try.
Pulling the battery doesn't seem to have any affect at all at any step throughout at of the system diagnostic procedures I have gone through .I tried a factory reset but it has zero affect. It doesn't do anything. Well I take that back. It creates a spinning circle, then puts the blue works at the top "Recovery Booting" and then sits there forever. To get out of that I have to put it into bootloader mode, and then cancel it, and then it will boot back to the OS, which I DO HAVE ROOT access too,, thank goodness, or else I know this would be a total write off at this point.
I tried Motochopper root for gaining root, and then putting on a recovery and then putting on a new OS... but that goes through all the motions - but has no effect except when the Recovery comes up -it brings up the bootloader, in download mode. So I have to reboot in bootloader mode and cancel it and then it will go into the OS again. Im sure you all know it, its one of the main ways to gain root or was until MF3 came into this ugly world.
I wrote all this (painfully) so that you may know where I stand with this beast. (I have lifelong painful nerve/muscle damage in arms/shoulders).
I think this problem started when an apk installed put in a recovery tool that had very tiny print. It worked ok, but I was using Rouge before. It would NOT allow me to reinstall rouge. I tried then to use a rool to install a recovery option and then the blue words started. If I could remember what app did this I would be getting a hold of that person down right now.but I unsure of it. I remember it was NOT a touch recovery system, it required you to use up and down arrow keys and did not have any way to mount or unmount sdcards for example. It also didn't have half the capabilities of Rouge such as rebooting back into recovery mode. I am telling you this so many someone has an idea of what it was. It was install by an app that was in a queue type system so that it would install and then other parts would then be able to install... It said Rogue didn't have that capability and I needed to use its system.
Things I tried to get back out from this almost bricked system.
- Flashing Recovery using above mentioned tool,
- Using Odin to flash rom, rom+pit, Odin to flash pit, (yes this includes flashing back to stock, etc. flash anything fails) - ANYTHING except pit. repeat ANYTHING. I have not tried ALL recovery images to flash because I have not been able to gain access to them.
- Using many of the tools in Google Play to put in new Recovery tools,
- I have not tried anything in the shell because although I use to be very proficient, that was before my injury.
- Yes I have tried pulling the battery many times after many steps.
- Ive tried many of the :flash back to stock" directions web pages.
- There is NO WAY to install nandroid backups as I can not get into recovery mode.
- There is no way to install rom backups as ODIN wont flash this beast.
- Tried Odin 3.07 and 1.85
Sorry, Can't think of more tight now, tired, from not sleeping much last night. Please try to help. I don't know how to fix this. Usually I can beat these things and pride myself on doing it but I am not that proud to admit when I am beaten no matter at what point it becomes true.
Please Help, especially authors of recovery tools or author Odin etc. I have no clue why. I looked at the partition sizes from my naked eye they look good but I need expert help. Please, not make sure your phone is fully charged, type of help.
..."semi-borrowed from AndroidSlave for this one problem"
Recovery is dead and a new one wont load.
Can you beat the bootloader?
.....EVEN ODIN CAN'T REFLASH MY i337 w/ MF3 & CM 10.2 (jflteatt) 20130910.....
