@spacebar using your tweaked minfree values, did it cause your audio to stutter? If it doesn't, then I probably know what's casuing the stutter since everyone doesn't have audio stutter

Cheers:)

Annoyed People: Return of the Audio Stutter - we totally need to make a movie about this (just a bad joke, ignore.)

Anyhow the point is Audio Stutter mysteriously reappeared. It's of very low freq and it's rare - but it's there. Thought it'd be helpful to tell you :(.

miui plays audio like streaming. buffer size is low. this causes the stutter. but i dont understand why miui doesnt use default stock codec or libs(i dont know what they are)
on stock roms while listening music you can zap into a moment with one touch on the line. but in miui you need to slide the dot on the line. its bad.

@Anyone :D
who have the battery drain problem
can try this method:
1.First Power off the device
2.Take out the sd card
3.Reflash the MIUI rom
4.After reflash rom format the internal sd
try it out
and then report
:p:p:D

Nope.. no stutter at all on any of the players on my phone - MIUI, Ubermusic, PowerAmp and Google Music. I use PowerAmp mainly, but yeah, no stutter at all.

Installed your ROM yesterday and I must say: Congratulations, my phone is running very smooth, and stable. I really like the ROM.

A little problem I faced was a incompatibility issue with LBE Privacy Guard. Everytime I installed that app l, my whole system crashed and I needed to wipe all caches and do a factory reset.

Sent from my GT-I9003 using XDA App

I'm using it without any problems from MIUIv7 (and I always install next MIUI over previous without factory reset or flashing XXKPQ). Did you follow the instruction during installation of MIUI?

I tried skype and it works well with microphone. But when I installed Google Voice (to have voice input) I got hot reboot when this application started (and it put itself to the autostart section). It was very difficult to uninstall it (I had to be vary fast :) )

I had audio stutter too, now I've decompiled miuimusic.apk, modified buffer to 60 % and recompiled... I'm trying now and it seems fine... I can post my mod version if someone is interested :D

    @gm007

    I have been monitoring your progress since few days. I would like to give you some advice.

    MIUI is based on AOSP and it is very much similar to CM7. Infact many of the MIUI ROM are based on CM7 and they share the same kernel for obvious reasons.

    Follow these guidelines for better ROM:

    1. Libraries
    Never use libraries from the Stock rom except for Proprietary stuff. Samsung is best at screwing up things and they might add some custom functionality which might break things on AOSP roms. So it is always better to avoid using libraries from the Stock roms.
    On the other hand, you could use Proprietary libraries from latest stock rom releases. The list of all such libraries could be found HERE. It would be best if you keep updating these files in the rom whenever any new stock rom is released.
    Also avoid using libraries from other phones since they won't be alike and they might contain customizations specific to that phone. I have noticed a lot of libraries which are not at all useful for example, you have included OMX Core from aries platform which obviously doesn't work.

    2. Debugging with Logs

    If you are having any issue that you need to fix and if you have the relavent logcat message, you could check the name of the module that gives the error. You could use the command 'grep -r "<string>" .' to search for that string so that you will get an idea about which library is responsible for that error message.

    3. Check for Dependencies

    Libraries don't magically load themselves. You need to load them manually which are often linked to other libraries. To load or use a specific library you need to find for additional dependencies so that they are all loaded. You could do a dependancy search by using "strings" command. For example to find the dependencies of libaudio.so you need to run `strings libaudio.so | grep ".so"`. This will show all the interlinked modules.

    4. Functional CM7 is a key to MIUI

    Since CM7 is opensource and MIUI is based on CM7, if you manage to fix issues on CM7, you could fix the issue on MIUI very easily. The best idea would be to sync the CM7 tree and fix issues that you are having. For example to fix the video recording, download the code, fix the issue and then check for libraries that have been updated or change. You could copy over those libraries to MIUI to fix the issue. Juggling with the libraries will do nothing other than bringing in more and more problems.

    I could have helped you with CM7, but rite now I don't have a device and I don't want to bother my friend who has bought the device recently only. And as far as the developers are concerned, everyone is too busy with their life.

    Good luck with your port. I appreciate your hardwork. Do let me know if you need any technical help.

    :)
