Safe Strap Q&A Flashing roms on MJ9

I have questions about the flashing process using this modified TWRP.

1. After installation my Safe System status does not change to active.
2. Once in recovery mode. The rom slot will not change to stock rom. Will this effect flashing?
3. Do I use this as I would regular TWRP? Wipe and flash.
4. Do I have to install the kernel for each new ROM when. Installing a ROM?
