Tried v20.1 test 2 and the problem with orbit has been fixed, thanks for this, hope I find it as stable as previous iterations.

You mean reconnecting the wifi or 3G?

The V20 have a problem but if the 17 did not work it may be something else.
I do not use VPN so I searched a bit in case there was someone to say something about it and I saw someone say that with the stock kernel, not worked until the last two versions, so there may be some change in the kernel compile options. I revised the source whenever they released a new version, but since I have not used it, I have not looked at his options.
Someone could put the file /proc/config.gz with the latest kernel from asus to check it?
Thanks

It has been reported before, and there must be something wrong with the kernel, but I have nothing to try the hdmi so testing is difficult to me.
When I have more time, it will check if I find the problem, or if anything can be tested about it.

It is probably the optimization problem that I mentioned earlier. If you can test V20.1test2 I posted before, is likely to return to work.

I do not have a wired controller for the Xbox, so I have not tried it. A user tested the changes and said he worked well with Riptide, so I put the changes into the next version.

This is a great project. I have used v18, 19.2, and v20 and all have solved my RR problems (229 hrs uptime with 19.2). No dock.

I did notice the wifi staying on during sleep for v20, but after toggling the setting a few times, it works again.

BTW, can you update your Github? I am mostly interested in your changes for RAM fragmentation, but I think it would be prudent to commit each time before you release as well (both because GPL and because it'll be easier to track). Thanks for your hard work.

I'm about to update to the test2 revision of 20 but I've been using the original 20 for 2 sleep sessions. The first was fine with wifi turning off during sleep but on the second it never did which is why I'm moving to test2 ;)

Hi, thanks for a great kernel

Question. With WiFi off when screen is off I'm guessing there are no notifications when in standby. Is there anyway to allow connection every x minutes when screen off to update emails etc?

I have one interesting observation with version 20 - only with 20 not test versions after it. The sound stopping issue doesn't not appear while when I flashed v20.1 test it reappeared.

This is quite a major issue and I'm really really happy that with v20 it seemed to be solved. It might reappear after some time but at least it the sound doesn't stop after only a few hours.

Memory thrashing in V20.1Test2?

Reporting on V20.1Test2. I experienced slowness as though apps were running out of memory due to thrashing of sort (was viewing a 6.6MB PDF using ezPDF alongside other apps like Tapatalk, GDrive, etc). The other issue was the erratic connectivity of exchange emails (not sure when it started). Attached is a kmsg log - I saw some "Why" and "freezing" messages.

I reverted back to V19.4 to test if slowness would happen again. Thanks.

TF101, B70, Guevor V20.1Test2, Revolver 4 RC3, 216~1400 MHz, default voltages, docked, MiniSD, no SD, no USB
=> No RR, no SOD, no random wake-ups yet, quick WiFi reconnection on wake, deep-sleeping, memory thrashing?, unreliable exchange connectivity?

EDIT: Same problem with V19.4. Two more kmsg logs attached.

Using V20 and so far so good, except that some random wakes when docked and open...

Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk 2

I also get a lot of wake up when docked with screen up. I have not tried V20.1 or 20.2 yet but the wake ups is not really an issue for me. When I docked with lid closed overnight I am getting very good battery usage.

20.1 is rock solid so far on megatron 1.1.5. Everything seems to be working great. I'm tethering wifi to my phone to send this.

Guevor this is the error for every file that i try to send to other device with bluetooth. TF can receive from other, but can't send because in the other sense can't enstablish connection. Maybe something regarding BT into your Kernel V20 is broken.

I tried the bluetooth with V20.1test2 to transfer a file from my tablet to my HTC Desire (had not used in a very long time) and asked me several steps of approval on both the phone and the tablet. The last step of authorization, when I accepted on the phone, the tablet transfer failed, but trying again worked perfectly. Then I tried the opposite and seamlessly.

I remember having problems in the past, which errors when trying to initiate a transfer, it is possible that some of the authorizations was not well recorded and then everything failed, I have not clear, but in any case the problem might be the rom, because if I could transfer is that the kernel driver works (although do not rule out any problems that might happens after time, like with wifi). In fact if what fails is the sending, but receiving is working, I understand that communication at kernel level is working and the problem should be on the software above it (rom) that not agree to transfer.

I'm still on Revolver RC2 and had random wake-ups on V20 but not V20 tests 1 or 2. Always docked with SD card.

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
I still have no clear what causes it, but I have noticed that when the dock battery has enough capacity did not happen, but when it is empty starts to happen.
Sometimes if I extract from the dock and return to insert does not happen more.
Anyway, I hope someday to find the cause or at least some remedy that really works.

I looked at the logs, and all messages are relative to when you suspend, so if the problem you mention was happening while the log there was no kernel message.

It could be that some process was accessing the disk much? To me it often happens that com.android.providers.media or /system/bin/sdcard is scanning all devices (memory, sdcard, microsd, etc. ..) in search of new/changed media, which slows the system, since access to devices (especially microsd or sd) is not too fast.

I've said some times, that for me this process is not working properly, because I have come to see how does the scan ends and begins again without I having done nothing new.

Anyway, if you want log, the only way to see what is making the system is with logcat (system log), because the kernel does what is asked to do and unless something goes wrong does not give error messages.

Initially the idea of this kernel was to test some things to see if it improved stability. I would have liked to start with the kernel of Blades, but I don't found the source of the ICS version, so I started from the official source of asus.
With the versions, more people used my kernel, so the initial idea to make a kernel for my personal needs has become more generic, so to some extent, try to apply the suggestions that other do.

I must make clear that this kernel does not exist without the work of others and thanks to free software. Just trying to be a bit, over a huge pyramid.
Thank Blades, Roach2010, clemsyn for his work and all who have commented for your help.

If you want to donate, there is a button on the left and a link below. Do not feel obligated at all and only in gratitude for my work if that has been useful to you.

Sorry, but I've been sick and I could not use the computer. The truth is that has been a difficult year and seems the doctors did not match with the solution (the problem is aggravated from time to time).
I will try to rest a few days and hope to return with more energy to continue collaborating.

I compiled a new version for CM9 with small changes in the configuration. If someone want to test it, please confirm if it works or not.
I have also compiled another version for JB eos with best compiler options similar to what I use on my other versions (the former was very similar to the configuration used in eos)
Sorry I can not spend more time at the moment but hopefully I can get in a few days another version for other JB rom.
