Do you see a cheaper one rated at 4.2 amps?

Those "cheap" one will charge the tablet if it's off but can not be used for navigation, at least not for a full day of driving as will slowly discharge the tablet. They will work with a phone, no problem, but Nexus 7 require a little bit more juice. The charger from link it's even faster than charging with the original 110V charger at home. Once again, thanks for sharing.

PS. I also use a cheap 90 degree eBay cable, and in my testing the cable did not make any difference, but I did not try with a really long one. Just make sure you have the 4.2.2 firmware, as with the original firmware you needed a special cable to get to AC charge mode, if not it defaulted to PC modeonly (in the latest kernel any cable will work).
Got the grabit charger, but when I plug it in, only the 1A slot lights up. Connect the N7 to 2A, it won't charge but slowly drains. Wonder if I got a defective unit. Emailed Wireless Emporium, will wait and see...

As far as I know, there is only 1 little blue light in that charger. I can't really see mine anymore, since is behind the tablet. Anyway, if it doesn't charge the tablet, than its defective. Try a different cable, if no success, get an exchange. I drove from Canada to Florida using my N7 for GPS navigation, and that little Grabbit charger always had my tablet charging, no issues

I just wanted to mention that I have also bought this charger here
Amazon PowerGen-Charger-Motorola-KeyBoard-included/dp/B0088U6OZY/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1351432753&sr=8-15
since I'm desperate to find a charger cable combination that works.

The one you guys mentioned on the first page. Except I'm not allowed to put a link in here.

With my Nexus seven running Route 66 the nexus is slowly discharging. 1 hour drive resulted 31% to 19% drop. I have used the OEM cable. I'm running Android 4.2.2.

I must have spent about £60 on different chargers cable name it ... none of them seems to work ... not even this one.

The irony is that I primarily bought the Nexus for navigation

Thanks. They told me the Grabit has one year warranty so I can get an exchange. I will test it again and decide if I should do an RMA.

Received the Anker 15W from Amazon.ca. Tried it today it's working good so far. Keeps it charging when navigating.
