But I did that when unbricking my phone using APX long-long time back. Worked like a charm for me. I just had to mount read write in RootExplorer to place the folder back into root.

Also, you can always change the permissions with chmod, if required. But I am not entirely sure if permissions is any issue at all. Atleast it wasnt an issue for me

I can assure you that simple copy and paste haven't worked for at least 90% of android users with efs-problem

Guess I was among the lucky 10%

But to me its still a little hard to digest coz in theory its possible.

Anyways I'll still make a Efs Pro backup. Can't take risks. It may not work next time.

I guess u were To be honest I was surprised that it worked for you just like that. Seriously many many people have tried this with no effect, the new (copied) efs-folder disappeared after reboot and other funny things used to happen.
