Default Possible cause of RRs?

Asus ROM corrupts user data?

I bought my TF101 as used in summer. At first it was very stable and I was very pleased with it. In autumn it became more and more unstable. At first I had uptime of several weeks but later on uptime reduced to day or two. Final situation was boot loop. I decided to reinstall whole system from scrach again using Peri tools. After that system was again almost rock solid. Until recently Uptime reduced again to mere 3 to 4 days before RR.

I decided to install latest EOS rom. Installation was very easy with TWRP recovery: Factory reset - Format system- Flash the Rom - Flash gapps - wipe cache / dalvik - reboot. After reboot EOS system was running fine.

Problems arose when I tried to install applications from Google Play. Some applications won't install at all ad some installation attempts caused RR before application was completely installed. I tried several times to install Rom again but final result was that I couldn't install all applications and some applications that I managed to install caused RRs.

Finally I tried to wipe user data, what could I loose?. After User data wipe I installed latest EOS rom without problems. Google Play restored my applications without any problems. Everything works now fine. And FAST

I suspect that Asus ICS Roms corrupts User data partition and that causes RRs.

I wouldn't be surprised if that's related to the issues that gradually stack up until the tablet is unusable. I also wouldn't be surprised if there are a raft of other issues causing it too.

Default Re: Official ASUS Thread - ICS Update on TF101 (20-Mar-2012)

I'm using also EOS' last JB rom. The tablet works great! I really like it again!

So I finally decided to buy a keyboard dock for my TF101 and it seems to have increased the rate of random reboots. With the latest ICS update the random reboots had reduced to about one or two per month. Now the random reboots have become more frequent. What do we have to do to convince ASUS to push JellyBean to the TF101?!

The TF101 is dead. The only way to solve the problem is:
put a no-official firmware
change the product (Acer, Samsung......)

You've got a better chance of turning the North Pole into a desert. Asus gives not one hoot about the people who got it started in the tablet business. They've also proven they lack the competency to upgrade a tablet to a newer version without destroying its stability.

Go third party and don't look back.

Default HD video youtube slow

I installed the official update 4.0.3 ICS on my TF101, everything works fine, but the HD videos on youtube app are slow. Also installed custom rom based on official ICS rom 4.0.3 but the problem remains.

What is the solution to this problem?

Worth it in some respects (maybe).

I hadn't visited this thread for a long time, having got used to the idea that the TF101 faithful have been completely dumped on by Asus.

It just reminds me that I will never buy an Asus product again.

The TF101 with ICS is "not fit for purpose" IMHO.
