trebuchet

The last few nightlies trebuchet is still acting up. No fc's like before, but anything i stick on the far bottom right, in the dock, won't "stick" during a reboot. It always clears out. I even cleared data for trebuchet, resetting it back to default values/layout.

So I installed cm11 from cm10.1, now I only have 6gb of space, before I'm sure I had over 14 to play with before? So what happened, sorry if this has been answered before, not very active on XDA at the moment...

I had this happen to me once. I used the factory image to return to stock and locked and unlocked the bootloader. This wiped everything and I got all my storage back. Just be sure to back up anything important on your computer.

I have been having that issue since 4.4.2 was introduced...not a biggy but slightly annoying :)

It was not happening for me until they switched from launcher3 to trebuchet. in the middle of their switching there were a few nightlies where the launchers (both) would force close repeatedly, and now this. Trebuchet is working fine on my d2tmo, but it has a narrower screen and this "slot" in the dock isn't available anyway.

I think a lot of people are using the google now launcher, and there's probably fewer people looking at this than there would be otherwise...

Anybody care to see if trebuchet is fixed in m3?

Did you do a full wipe when you updated to 11? You may have the 0 folder with all your old stuff in it hogging up space.

I did a full wipe yes, actually when I used the tools and fastboot it formats before install...

trebuchet still busted

It is not fixed. On first reboot after upgrading to 11.0m3, expect any widgets along the right hand side to be missing and any icon or icon group you put into the bottom right to not "stick" on reboot. Keeps removing them and leaving a gap. I think the width is set too narrow, but there's no settings available to change it.

I filed this to track:

https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/CYAN-3454

---------- Post added at 06:53 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:51 PM ----------

Planning to upgrade from 10.2.1 to 11 M3 what gapps package is recommended since kitkat is not listed on goo.im/gapps?

I've been using the gapps from here:

http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2012857

He only tests on nexus 5, but it seems to work on just about any other device out there. You can also pick and choose which parts of the gapps you want. I use the core plus calendar sync only. I like to keep it minimal.

How can i disable the camera on the lockscreen(right screen)?

I use NiLS and is there a way to set only it's widget and disable all including the right and left screens on the lockscreen(disable any swipes)

But you still haven't read the source code for it have you? I don't think you'll find anybody that understands c/c++ well that will read the code and say it is great. It compiles, and it seems to work. But it is not the quality of code I would trust a device that costs hundreds of dollars to.

At this point both CWM and TWRP boil down to some kind of GUI that drives some basic command line utilities such as tar and dd for backup and use primarily AOSP code for installing zips. The hard part is coming up with the correct commands for wiping and backup/restore. It's hardly rocket science. Neither should scare you. Writing code is an art, not a science. Maybe I don't follow all the standard naming conventions or use all of the preferred methods for C/C++ but that doesn't make it poor code and we're continually improving our code base.

Personally the only thing that scares me about recovery are the builds of CWM that random people build using koush's web-based recovery builder. You have people that know nothing about compiling, source code, or recovery using it and sometimes the results can be pretty non-functional.

TWRP is fully open source, so if there's something that you don't like you can download the source, change it, and submit your changes upstream. TWRP is technically not supported by the CM team, but that doesn't make it a bad recovery and if you need recovery-related support then you can certainly come to us. Thanks to landstander I actually have a Nexus 7 in my hand that I can use as a testbed to troubleshoot issues.

Now, I have no idea why this thread turned into a discussion of what recovery is better when the discussion in this thread should be focused on CM10.1. I would suggest that people get back to discussing the ROM and not the various recoveries that are available.

Took longer than I thought as usually I upload to goo.im, but I had some problems with that today.

    I wondered why i get no cm11 m11 update.

If there is no maintainer, why is there a new nightly available?
Grouper M builds have to be approved by me at the moment. I was on vacation during the M11 and M10 approval time period so I couldn't do that.
I have no plans to miss this month's M build.
