[Q] Updating kitkat for jellybean rooted LG G2 ATT wo

I had rooted LG G2 With Jelly bean and enabled tethering for my phone using SQLLite. Now since ATT pushed KitKat update, will i lose the ability to tether? Do I have to again root and update the database using SQLLite to enable tether after installing KitKat?

Or should I just update KITKAT and everything should work like before?

You'll lose root, and you'll lose the ability to install a custom recovery. It wipes out custom recoveries and reinstalls stock
