Greets to the people here at XDA,
I'm very well sure that you have already covered the news of Ubuntu for Phones going open source and the successors to Nexus S have already received the OS packed and ready to taste. But unfortunately, the Nexus S was left out of scene, quiet a disappointment, isn't it? So to cover this up, I've worked really hard and have been able to compile Ubuntu Phone OS for our EPIC Nexus S.
About
Ubuntu Touch is a mobile platform developed by Canonical Ltd. for smartphones and tablets. Ubuntu Phone aims to provide a similar user experience as the Ubuntu desktop edition. The OS was previewed on 2 January 2013 and it has been released as a Developer Preview in February 2013.
Ubuntu Phone utilizes the same core technologies as the Ubuntu Desktop, so applications designed for the latter platform run on the former and vice versa. Additionally, Ubuntu Desktop components come with the Ubuntu Phone system; allowing Ubuntu phones to provide a full Ubuntu Desktop when connected to an external monitor.
