Hey. My uncle has this 2 year-old Galaxy S Plus, which has been giving him a couple of problems. First, the phone's mic stopped working (which he got fixed somewhere), then the phone got... bricked? It doesn't turn on, anyway. The battery's fine, the guy at the place he took it told him it's a motherboard problem and will cost him Rs. 6000/- ($100) at the Samsung service center. The phone's never been rooted, bootloader unlocked, and whatever you Samsung guys do to your phones (I'm a Sony one myself). Any way it can be fixed, other than the service center? The phone's going to be replaced with an S3, so I figured I could salvage it and put KitKat on it (since you guys already seem to have it).
