Default [Q] New to Tablets, Nexus 7, and XDA-Developers

Hello all, first I'd like to say this is a pretty neat site so far. Secondly, I am fairly proficient with computers and love technology so I purchased a Nexus 7 and am loving it. However I want to root it and I donated so I could get the toolkit however I am unsure of where to find the donators version? I thought I bricked it last night attempting to do it myself. Any feedback would be appreciated!!

You should receive an email that is tied to your paypal that will help you unlock your toolkit.and are you sure you have bricked it?

DONATE TO ME

Don't worry, you can't really brick these things easily. They all have a very low level connectivity to push and flash files even if there is no OS.

Outside ADB and Flashboot commands there are also NVEdit commands.

Although I didn't know they were forcing donations for the toolkit. pretty cut and dry method. After you root and have clockworkmod installed, you can cut the cord from the PC. Then you download roms on your tablet itself, reboot and flash.

Piece of advice:
Upgrade to 4.2.2 before you start. Unlock, root, install a custom recovery and BACKUP your rooted stock 4.2.2 Rom before flashing a custom one.

This is nice to have if you ever want to flash back to stock for whatever reasons.

They were not really forcing for donations. Its just that OP wanted to donate for skip's work. The toolkit is pretty good anyways

I didn't brick it I found out how to hard reset it :S Like I said I'm a noob. I never got an email about anything regarding the donation but the money was taken out of my account :/ I'm going to attempt to root it again, and update with my results.
