Hum I think the file must be installed erasing first boot.IMG and then flashing your kernel ,Yank
I know it will be overwritten by your boot..but who know

When at home I'll try something to let phone boot

That won't hurt, you'll first flash the full update = ROM side update & stock CM10.1 updated kernel, then you will flash my kernel (it will replace the boot.img).

IMPORTANT QUESTION

Since it's beginning to become harder to maintain now 3 versions of this kernel due to repeated changes in CM10.1 kernel that breaks backwards compatibility ... and the code changes to mali would have me really maintain a new kernel (branch).

Does the 4.1.x kernel still need maintaining ?

If nobody is using it anymore I'd rather drop it.

So please, if you still need it, let me know, unless I get feedback, I will drop it as of 1.5.

The same question goes for the "old" 4.2.x, meaning the one with the old mali sources ?

JP.

EDIT : I've added a poll, please use it to help me figure out where to go from here. Thanx !

Dear Yank

Thanks for the patch, it does work for me with 22nd build with the Mali driver, just to let you know. Thanks

I hope you can keep this maintenance on your kernel, therefore I totally with you on dropping support for 4.1.2 because some devs are given enough time to start working on CM10.1.

+ UV on my wishlist

I can't say whether or not anyone needs the 4.1 kernel, but the 4.2 using the old mali will properly not be needed. CM will no longer have any support for this, and it will not be more than a day or two before all custom 4.2 ROM's have upgraded the egl drivers to the latest version as it does provide full JB support unlike the old once.

B.t.w you work really fast. I downloaded your source and added the commit myself (In order to test these new drivers), but I hardly got it to build before you uploaded your release :D

Dear Yank

In the newest patch for the Mali driver, swap is somehow not supported? Not running? Since I tried running the installation again and again but still no swap...

It looks like it works fine on Slim Bean. Thanks :) I'll let them know on their thread.

EDIT: it's smooth but I've got some glitches... So I'll continue testing...
