Default hey

this is mainly used for reverting back to stock on all count so if you have a problem and need warranty work you look like you did not root or put on any roms clear all back to total stock remember there is a download counter that needs to be cleared too this is just best way to have it back to the day you got it from your provider thats all

Im sorry but this is just not true the easiest way to reset flash counter is em tool .theres no need to go through all these hoops.
It always resets flash counter and leaves you phone like factory.
Takes about 5 min and done.
Em tool: plug n play fail proof and its a no brainer.
But sorry ididdnt mean to hijack thread.

I tried the Clear Flash instructions from this thread, but my status is still modified. I'm on 4.1.2, but the instructions use 4.1.1. Does that matter? Also, what is this EM tool? Any ideas because I want to get back to stock because I would like OTA's again.

Default your missing it

the thread that is here starts with

Code:
This morning I decided it was time for flash count clear/un-root / back to stock
I searched forum for hours finally finding something tucked away from clear view that would give me results I seeked.
This method took me about 10 min , successfully clearing count , doing away with root giving me factory out of the box ready for ATT store exchange if needed.
Many thanks to cortez.
i never said there was not a easier way or newer tools out since this was made i just stated what the thread was about as above. it is his thread anyways i was just saying what the thread was about not who's way was best you did ask this

Code:
What advantage does this method have or why use this over em tool?
Its always nice to have alternate methods but just wondering.
i just mainly said what it was used for no argument about other ways

thanks

remember someone could like to do it the way here as they are going step by step i am not one for tools myself but this is a site of choice ..

Its on samsung web site.
Heres where to start
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/
First make sure yoy have the usb drivers.
This link will help you get there
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/

Then you need kies

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/

Notice my links lead you to the search function...very usefull!

Jk

Start keis and in one of the drop down menus you will see an option
"Emergency firmware recovery"
Or something like that.
Its step by step a lot more efficiant, simpler, and faster than odin.
And garuanteed to reset the flash counter
Etc etc.
Hope this helps, let us know how it goes
