so i got a samsung galaxy s sgh-t959v is the model number and i would like to mod it with cyanogenmod iv seen youtube videos that says i neet to root and all. i was wondering if someone could give me a full detailed tut on how to root and then mod it with cyanogenmod.

You are quite lucky there is one in development or else you'd have been flamed.

If you read, this phone is not the galaxy s i9000. Or the vibrant(T959). This is the T959"V". Every phone has its own development. galaxy s doesn't mean galaxy s 4g.

That's calling the motorola droid and the droid x the same thing. They are 2 very phones.

Then you are going to have to go with one of our custom ROM's. You can follow one of the first two links in my signature. Whichever better suits your phone situation.

Custom ROM's are in the Development SubForum.

i have one more question, lets say i wanted to sell my phone and its modded but wanted to delete my persnol info on it. could i factory reset and still have it rooted/mod?

yeah. you could wipe /data through either CWM or through the phone's settings menu
