Read read and read some more... research and research and research some more. Before I touch my newly bought phone I do as much research as I can. I will read through directions over and over and see what problems people have had first. With it being a holiday I'm also a little nervous that I won't get help quickly if I run into some problems. I've downloaded software but I still don't have a good understanding so I'm going to read and watch the video some more.

Hey mate...need to clarify something...your video shows that your toolkit allows to generate the token ...and using that and pasting on HTC Dev website the phone gets unlocked right? So what am I missing in terms of the steps jcase uses? Which of his steps if any do I need to use before using your toolkit?

Anyone used this toolkit successfully ?
Thanks

Great question. You need to do Jcase's method FIRST and then you can use my toolkit to finish the rest of the process. My video doesnt have Jcase's method.

I predict you will have little to no issues. Everyone should read this ^^ post before doing ANY mods to their phone. Not just the unlock process, or the use of this tool. Good luck with your unlocking endeavors.

At the end of jcase instructions it says this "After reboot, you can go to http://HTCDev.com, and unlock through their official process. Choose the "All other supported models" option when selecting your phone."

Is this where I now back to this tool to finish the rest of the process?

Will the data/folder work just fine to complete the Jcase unlock exploit assuming i have all the files in the data folder/root folder for adb.exe just like the tutorial states.

In other words I am not required to have the Android SDK kit installed on the computer.

Still waiting for my DNA..reading a lot..I have unlocked boot loaders on Samsung devices very easily...but jcase method is so long and making me real nervous..will I brick my device forever? Am not in the USA and will never be able to get another replacement ...which is the tricky part that I need to be carefull of?

Its not that hard my dude. All u need to do is.........pull up jcases video, watch it all before u do anything!!!!! Ok, so watch it a couple times so u get the idea of what, and how u are about to do. Now pull up "unlock DNA bootloader redmond pie.com" without the quotation marks of course. Now, read all of this once, or twice, up to u, and copy, and paste commands. It should b a breeze, once u get started. It was for me anyways. The main thing is "copy and paste" those commands.

If u feel like its just too much for u to handle......then ask questions!! Never proceed with something if u dont feel comfortable doing it.

I will personally help u, if u feel u need help. Ive done this 4 times already. The directions are right on the money, although it may b a little difficult to those who dont know adb. Just watch, and read before starting. And if u need a hand, just ask. Good luck sir!

I actually bricked my phone. got my replacement this morning. I can tell you the trickiest part. it's when you're hit the restore button on the phone. it'll say 'starting restore'. there's no progress bar or any confirmation that it's working. I was also thrown off a bit by the password prompt that just stood there even after I hit restore. perhaps I was foolish to assume that once the restore commenced, the password prompt would go away. the following cmd's are what bricked my phone. I didn't remove that DX file... be careful.

What dx file? Was the password for your phone or sim unlock code? Or something else altogether?

I followed JCase's video, copy and pasted all of his commands, and got through the whole tutorial without an error or bricking my phone...and I STILL cannot unlock my bootloader through HTCDev. I still get the MID error even after doing the exploit. I have followed everything to a T and it is still not working, i'm frustrated after spending so much time on this already.

I'm familiar with doing things like this through command prompt, because I rooted my Thunderbolt manually and had to go through a much longer process. My DNA went through the eploit process without a hitch, and I still get the same message on HTCDev i got before.

Thoughts?

On htcdev site, are you choosing the "other devices" option?

So is it safe to use adb included in this toolkit to perform jcase unlock exploit. Sorry just trying to get a definitive answer

Yes, I tried manually doing to the "other devices" section, as well as using the built in link in this all in one tool. No dice.

I'm actually pretty happy with the DNA completely stock, but I really want to debloat it, which is why I tried to root. Just thought it was weird I was able to run JCase's exploit without any issues, and the HTC Dev site is still kicking back this error. At this point, I'm not sure what to do. When I get home tonight, I can try the HTCDev site again, but if it still doesn't work, then i'm stumped.

so im thinking about using this tool..i basically just want a simple root i dont plan on trying different kernals or roms just want to root to get certain apps and have more freedom

so i would think this would be the best tool to do so after i unlock bootloader..i have to flash a recovery? if so which is best to do?..ive rooted before but since my first and 2nd original motorola droids and things have changed a bit plus its not fresh in my mind

anything else i have to do?

I would like to add for those that like my toolkit, PLEASE DO NOT POST IT ELSEWHERE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!

I have seen multiple sites who copy and paste my work to their site! If I do not approve of it, then do not do it! it will discourage me from adding updates since it is being used for their own benefits!

    tl;dr.

If you post my work without permission, don't expect updates!

I created an easy to use GUI program for the HTC Amaze and I decided to make one for the HTC Droid DNA. I spent a good over 10+ hours to learn how to script, watch videos on how to do it, working on it during school when I should have been listening lol and all that fun stuff. I am going to fix it and up and add more updates to it. You CAN place requests and I will try to fulfill it!

If this helped you out, Please press the thanks button and if you want, you can always donate!

We're sorry, but it appears your attempt to unlock the bootloader on this device has failed. This could be caused by several factors including simple errors in the entry of the unlock token, problems with your device, or a lack of manufacturer support for the unlocking process. Please see the specific error code listed below, and try again if necessary.
    Error Code: 160.
    Error Reason: MID Not Allowed.

MID = Model ID = Your phone.

Verizon locked out your bootloader >.<

This thread, as well as a few others claiming to be "All-In-One Toolkits" etc. should be moderated. Unfortunately this is a guide for early model phones with S-Off and those able to have unlocked with HTCDev.

As much as everybody else here, I'd love to see a real root for the actual "consumer" phone for Verizon. Fair?
Now I take offense to that and your facts aren't correct. S-off users don't need this.

If you'd "love" to see real root, why don't you figure it out yourself? We do what we can to help. Hell, I don't even own the phone and I still try to help. Have you contributed? You have 4 thanks. I have over 2,800. I think we all know who contributed here more.

    Bugs
    - Directory has to have one word.
    Ex:

Will Work. This will solve any issues if the buttons don't work when you press them.

    C:\Users\John\Dropbox\Phones\Amaze_All-In-One_Kit_V2.4

    C:\Users\John_Smith\Dropbox\Phones\Amaze_All-In-One_Kit_V2.4

Will NOT work. Your directory will look something like this and buttons won't work when you press it.

    C:\Users\John Smith\Dropbox\Phones\Amaze_All-In-One_Kit_V2.4

If you have 2 words, put the folder in Drive C:

Ex. This will solve any issues if the buttons don't work when you press them.

    C:\Amaze_All-In-One_Kit_V2.4

Looking to add in the future
    - Kernels
    - More recoveries
    - Makes Requests!!!

    FAQs

Q - Why Did you make this?
A - To make life easier

Q - You are limited on features. Why?
A- You can always make a request!

Q - Will this work on other devices?
A - Only the fastboot commands, HTC Dev unlock (device specific) and the HTC drivers. Toolkit is made for the specific device.

Q - Will you support more devices in the future?
A - If people REALLY want, I can make it happen. I just don't want to make anything that nobody would use.

    Q - Awesome! Can I make a donation?
A - Of course! Do not feel obligated though. If you would like to make a donation, you can click the button on my toolkit or under my username.
