this seems to have broken wifi on my hox. its working in some capacity, stock tether seems functional, but when i attempt to sign onto my wifi network it just seems to churn and then not connect.

anyone seeing the same thing?

1. Try reflashing the stock boot image
2. If you have MAC Address security on your router, then add your device's new MAC Address to your router; this is something that is currently common among recent AOSP builds.

I'm not having this issue with this particular ROM but it is happen with the latest PA 2.51 ROM.

This is from another post:

"Is anyone having issues with WIFI? I ask because I've read replies that state WIFI is working perfectly and vice versa. I've been having issues since 2.14. Basically, WIFI sees my network but refuses to connect. Or, If if connects I'm unable to turn it off with out rebooting my phone. I'm thinking I need to reflash the Boot.img file, which I've never done. Also, I bought my phone the first day it was available.

ROM History:
Clean ROM 4.1
Clean ROM 4.5
PA 2.13
PA 2.16
PA 2.22
PA 2.51"

I had a brief issue with my home network where it kept avoiding "poor connection." Reboot fixed it for now. Speaking of reboots, doing so seems to kick my CPU min back up to stock.

WAY more importantly, my wakelocks appear to have drastically reduced from previous AOKP builds! I am LOVING this ROM!

Thanks, rohan!

thanks for the quick reply rohan,

sorry to sound n00bish but how do i flash the stock boot img? you mentioned using fastboot earlier, i just dont know how to do that. i did see that avoiding poor connection thing once or twice, not sure if that helps.

thanks in advance

also- small piece of info- when i use WiFi Analyzer and connect to my wifi network it seems to connect about 1 out of every 5 attempts. strange. if i kill the wifi and turn it back on, it sees the network again, but doesn't connect.

Unzip the ROM and you'll see a file named "boot" it'll be an ISO file.

thanks guys - i was able to find it, and fastboot it in ( i think) wifi seems to be connecting on its own, i will give it some time and see if it drops it.

just a side question- what kernel is everyone running? is it rohan's build 1? thats what i have on there now. i was stupid and didnt take notice of what was on there when i flashed the rom- so i am unclear on if fastboot actually flashed anything.

thanks again

I just wanted to say I am loving this ROM. I came over from the paranoid 2.52 and put the one on. Also learned something about switching the mobile network to LTE lol. Went to a bigger city near me and didnt have a connection, my wife's stock HTC One X had 4g LTE going and I was stumped. after 30 minutes figured out how to change it to LTE manually in the settings and then a strange thing happened.

My wife had no data connection when we went into a restaurant and there I was just kanging away AOKP style with 4g .. Nice! .. love all the stuff you post on here for us Rohan, thanks again for all the hard work you do and to all the other people that contribute to these builds/ideas/kernals etc .. I appreciate it all.

Lack of wake locks is blowing my mind. I've never used a aosp based rom that defeated wakelocks like this one. That goes for my GS2 as well! I was able to get 5 hours screen on with AOKP, this one got me 3.5 yesterday but that included 2 hours of navigation.

Picture to show lack of wakelocks:

    What is King Kang?
King Kang is essentially a hybrid ROM - its a mixture of AOKP, CyanogenMod, and ParanoidAndroid, bringing all their customizations to one rock solid and quick ROM. These numerous features combine to create a blend of features not seen anywhere else before. Make the user interface yours with this ROM. Change the DPI the ROM runs at, tweak the interface to your hearts content, while enjoying great battery life and stability. Never before have these features combined to create a ROM as feature-packed as King Kang. Credits for the features goes directly to the teams responsible - AOKP and CM for their respective work, and ParanoidAndroid for their wonderful DPI on-the-fly modifications. Without these teams, this ROM would not be possible.

What is the future going to be like for King Kang?
Currently, it is heavily rooted in AOKP as its main base. As the ROM progresses, it will grow and extend its functionality. Want to see a feature from a different ROM that isn't here, or have an idea for a new feature that isn't currently in any other ROM out there? Fill out the feature request form located here so that we can bring it to you! http://kan.gd/1t88

What are the current features of King Kang?
    • All of AOKP's features
    • ParanoidAndroid per-app DPI changer
    • Apollo music player from Cyanogenmod
    • CMs Backuptool when flashing
More is coming soon! Feature request here: http://kan.gd/1t88

How do I install King Kang?
    1. Download the ROM from the box below
    2. Download the Google gapps from the box below
    3. Reboot into your recovery (TWRP is recommended)
    4. Wipe data if you are coming from a ROM besides King Kang
    5. Flash the King Kang ROM zip
    6. Flash the Google Apps zip
    7. Format your dalvik cache/normal cache
    8. Reboot
    9. Customize your experience to your heart's content!

    Google Apps: http://goo.im/gapps
Latest one for Jellybean (CM10) should work perfectly

    Information
Some AOKP features power over the ParanoidAndroid ones. For example, in order to get Tablet UI, you first need to check the "Tablet UI" option in ROM Control, then change it to the desired mode in Paranoid Android, and then reboot.

This ROM began as a creation by DAGr8 for Android 4.0, ICS. It offered a simple AOKP + PA combination.

The ROM is currently being built 100% from source. The "team", a.k.a. people maintaining and adding features from other ROMs is currently myself and DAGr8. Without the other teams though, this ROM would be nothing.

    Milestone 1: http://code.google.com/p/kingkang/downloads/detail?name=kingkang_evita_jb_milestone1.zip

Too much has changed to list it all.
Poke around in the ROM to figure out what changed :)

A FULL WIPE/Factory Reset is HIGHLY recommended.

Tons of new AOKP features, bugfixes, CM updates, and more CM small features.

Sadly Per App Color did not make it into this build. Its coming soon, however.

    Enjoy
This will probably be the last build on 4.1 btw... 4.2 merge is in process.

    Hey guys,

I've been gone for the past few days because as expected, I lost power due to the storm. It did some pretty major damage to my house, but luckily no one was injured. About half our roof is gone, along with 3 trees and a window is shattered. Besides that though, everything is good.

Currently I don't have power. and I probably wont until early next week. The state of my town is insane right now; in a road near me, every 100 meters or so there is a live wire down with a huge 50ft tree on top of it. This won't be cleaned up for a long time. I haven't had school for the past week either, and I probably won't next week either, since pretty much 90% of my town doesn't have power still.

I'm currently at my Mom's work, since they have electricity and power, along with internet. I'll be here for the next few days during the daytime I guess, so feel free to PM me. I can't get any major programming work done for this ROM though since all my files were on my local computer which currently doesnt have power.

Hope anyone else who was affected by this terrible storm is okay- just remember none of the material stuff matters; keep your family safe.
