Looks like my MMS finally went through. Ran into a weird problem with Play store, so I reflashed gapps and cleared caches. Maybe the cache clear helped.

BTW, does Fix Permissions work in the latest CWM (6.0.10.0 I think, non-devil)? It doesn't generate a log when I run it and only takes like 2 seconds to complete.

Sorry for all the "panic mode" questions, trying to get it squared away before I head out to go see Helmet & Toadies in DC tonight!?!? I need my phone to be fully operational!! Thanks guys!!!
I used tim's full build, but in the time-stamp it says Jul 26th and I'm missing theme manager & some other stuff in settings??
Can't get build 4 rockin' for me today, I'll do it tomorrow?? Goin' with 3.1 the rest of today!!

Ok here's the scoop with the asserts. I made a booboo and left the first couple mez and show builds with fascinate asserts. The asserts check the build prop to verify your flashing to the right device. They also do things during building. You must get on the build for your device if you expect MMS to work. The build prop for each build is different and that tells the device which APN to use. If your build prop says fascinate/Verizon you won't use the cspire or ucss apns hense broken MMS. So use the updater script with no asserts floating around and get on the build for your device. Once you are on the one for your build you should be fine from here on. If someone wants to package them up for each device I'm fine with that. You guys need to get on a build for your device though.

I can repost the updater script that has no asserts if need be, I also posted the fascinate specific one a page back. And MMS works flawlessly for me.

Edit: Here it is.
Remember to REMOVE the .txt extension in order to overwrite the original updater script in the package. The updater script to replace will be located at META-INF\com\google\android

To find meta-inf you have to extract the zip (the build zip) and once you open the folder you extracted to, the meta-inf will be there

Cspire Showcase on AOKP JB Build 4
Clean install wiped everything

Recovery through power menu does not work. It worked via ROM Manager
Sound working
Data working
GPS working but, not so well not accurate. Worked better on wifi.
SMS sent but did not receive
MMS can't test on my plan.
Camera Flash worked

Where inside the phone to I place the update script though. I'm looking through the folders with ROM toolbox pro and can't find where to put it

This backup/restore thing with AOKP is frustrating the crap out of me. I nuked everything, went back and installed via Odin from scratch (to be safe I used droidstyle's guide).

Installed AOKP JB, all went well, backup gave md5 error. Okay, Nuked everything again, installed sbrissens jb, backup worked perfectly. WTF?

Decided to make sure, so I went and restored the backup in sbrissen (aokp backups totally unusable, no nanroid md5 in teh files at all). Sbrissen restore worked fine.

So I have AOKP, that I love, but won't backup/restore versus aosp which is okay, but can backup and restore.

Brother you dont put it on the phone itself. Check it out.

Download the updater=script that I posted a couple posts back.
Download Build 4 of AOKP from steve (Say, on a PC)
Unzip the build downloaded from steve
Open the folder it was extracted to
Navigate to META-INF\com\google\android
Replace the updater-script in that folder with the one I have provided
Zip it all back up
Copy to your phone (if you are having storage problems, go to recovery and mount USB mass storage)
Install as usual
Profit.

Alternatively, I am uploading another build with the modded script (removing the asserts completely as I did for build 1, the recent build I posted had the asserts specific to a fascinate, this one is blank as Steve requested). This will be for those who do not wish to mess with replacing the script themselves and want to just scratch the itchy flash finger :) Its uploading now to my 4Shared so gimme a few (about 10 minutes) and I will link it.

If I'm understanding this correctly, say the newest rom was downloaded to your pc. You need to unzip it with 7 zip or something along those lines. You than navigate to the folder listed where the assert is. Copy and replace it in that folder, rezip, and transfer to phone and flash away.

    Do to the total disregard for the flashing instructions and some individuals trying to find answers without attempting to find it themselves first. I have come up with a list of things I except to see before I will even acknowledge a question from here on out.

    If you have a Question try these first.

    1) You must me on the most recent Devil up build. Questions about AOKP Official builds or older Glitched builds should be referred to the most recent Devil up build first. Verify you are on the right ROM having people complain about having a mesmerize on the Verizon network or not getting data/mms because they flashed a Fascinate ROM is ridiculous. If you don't even know what device your on you shouldn't be flashing custom ROMs.

    2) You should try a redownload of the ROM and Gapps, a wipe of data, dalvik, and cache, a flash and a test of the problem before restoring apps or data. That includes the back this phone up option in the gaps installer. Don't check it that until you test your issue.

    3) If you problem is with a single app delete it and redownload it from Google play.

    4) Read the OP and the last 10 pages of the thread completely, if your answer is there your question will be ignored. It will take you just as long to read those pages as it will for me to find it and copy it or re type it.

    5) Believe me when I say I take a lot of pride in this ROM. We use this ROM everyday. We test every feature before it's released. If you say you are having an issue and we tell you it's not the ROM…. It's you if you try and argue that your posts will be ignored.

    For some reason build 35 doesn't like some apps on the SDcard if you are getting Acore FCs logcat the next force close and move the app responsible to the phone memory.

    Build 35.1
    DROPPED HYBRID FOR NOW
    Fixed themes and the acore force closes due to apps on the SDcard.

    Build 36-38
    Now builds SW kernel fresh in every build
    No more wifi scan internal, now wifi scans in background
    Sbrissen fix for split SMS

    Build 39
    Official support for Mesmerize and Showcase.

    Build 40
    Switch to the Devil kernel
    Using Linaro 4.7.1 toolchain

    Init.d appears to still be broken if you want/need it push this to /init.d

    Official build has Glitch and the regular toolchain, Devil has Devil (.99) and the linaro toolchain. Both kernels are interchangable so find which rom/kernel combo works for you and sit tight while we wait/work on Jelly Bean.

    We had a meeting last night. Ok so here is the plan. Milestone6 will be aokp's last ics build. We start on jelly bean after the source drops. Milestone6 will come with 2 options the official non linaro build for those with issues, and I will put out a linaro build for those who want it. I will include the latest devil kernel, and from here until jelly bean look too the devil for kernel updates. He had assured me he will be making devil kernels for jb. No etas, we are waiting for the source drop.

    Linaro milestone 6 is in the oven it wont be out until tomorrow morning so I can test it. it will come with devil 99 unless there is an issue. As you guys know this is our last ics build so I gave you all the options you could ask for as far as linaro/glitch/devil combinations find the one that works for you and sit tight for JB.

    For those of you who aren't on Twitter... (ask yourself why) JT has got the fascinate up and running on CM10 (everything but GPS) he should be posting a build shortly (next few days...) He's also dropping his source (why I love him and also why everything I do is 100% open) so you guys should be getting so CM10 and AOKP love on Jelly bean very shortly. Congrats on staying alive through another update fassy owners...
