This did not work for me. I still only ever get to android recovery and not CWM from power down using the button presses! This is very frustrating :(
The file was there and I renamed it and moved it to root. I can only ever get to CWM via mobileuncle. Perhaps the lastest OTA breaks this functionality.

Update: looks like clearing cache partition and dalvik cache has resolved this! Just had a brainwave to try this and so far it works...

Hmm..there may be one thing, have you checked for the file "/system/reboot-from-recovery.p"...If it's there, either delete it or move it to some other place...This file restores the default recovery on system reboot !!!

Ok, after the 4th try, I finally got the firmware downloaded, started to install it, but it failed. Something about signature fail in E:

Where can I find the file? Maybe it's In the wrong place?

EDIT: I found the firmware zip file and saved it on my laptop for safe keeping. For it to work on the tablet, what directory does it need to be in?

Any chance you can put that file up for download somewhere?

I would, but the file is 448MB...I have a mediafire account, but I can't upload anything over 200MB...any free services that will allow this file?

I'm trying to upload the file to my Dropbox folder. Hopefully that will work.

Another thing, my tablet is rooted...could that be a problem with installing the firmware?

Rooting doesn't affect the firmware installation...Bad signature warnings are mostly related to incomplete/ corrupted downloads...If the system and boot.img in the archive are complete, you can use Android Kitchen to cook an update.zip yourself OR I can do it for you if and when you upload the archive !!!

Hello, any body can help me, I want to know why my device (A2107A-H) is showing negative number for internal storage that happened after I sent it to Lenovo tech and they reinstalled the software, my device was 4 GB and now its showing free space more than 13 GB, plus how to know if my device is up to date, I don't have the face unlock feature, when I attempt to update it says your system is up to date. thanks in advance :)

Here is the firmware update for the A2107A-F...can someone check to see if something is wrong with it?

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/39589770/update.zip

Just out of curiosity did you change the default write disk in storage? I have the same tablet & was able to install the update through android recovery without issue by changing default write disk back to usb device & putting the update.zip in the internal storage.

Well, it was origianlly downloaded to the external sdcard, but then I moved the file to mnt/sdcard2 (which I believe is the internal sdcard). I then tried to install the update, but got the same results. I'll try to change back to usb device and try again. Thanks!

EDIT: I changed it to usb device, then tried to install via CWM recovery, but got the same results.

I'm not sure about installing the update via CWM, I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it's not possible. I'm pretty sure you can only install that update via stock recovery, which is what I did. You may have to use something like android kitchen to modify the update so you can install with CWM. But don't take my word for it wait for the experts to weigh in.

Actually /mnt/sdcard2 is the external SD card...the internal memory is shown as USB Storage and /mnt/sdcard ...

slayer402 is 100% correct, you cannot install official update thru normal CWM recovery, try to use the "install zip from sdcard" option of CWM recovery and place your file to the root of sdcard2, that is your external SD card...Or, you can use stock recovery or cook a CWM flashable ROM from the update.zip...Since you have uploaded the zip, I'll try to find some time to cook a CWM flashable ROM for you using Android Kitchen...

By posting a reply I, by no means imply that I am an expert...I'm in the learning phase too :)

EDIT : I have seen you "update.zip" file, it cannot be flashed via CWM recovery, you have to use Stock recovery, place the "update.zip" to the root of sdcard (not the external one bu the one shown as USB storage when plugged in to PC or shown as /mnt/sdcard within file manager or root explorer)...When you'll reboot in recovery, it will automatically start to apply "update.zip"

Thanks so much for your response! So, I cannot install the update through CWM...how do I get to the stock recovery?

A2107A-F compatible rom's?

Ok, it's been asked many times in this forum, but I still do not see a definitive answer. Are there any A2107A-F specific custom roms available to try out? I note that most of the roms referenced here are for the A-H model and am wary about trying any of them as the h/w specs are different.
The A-F model is WiFi only and no calling functionality. Anybody?

    New links for ROMs

ROMs uploaded on Dev-Host server ... No bugs except USB OTG and extra Language support, sorry about that

Please remember to back-up your "/data/nvram" folder from your stock before flashing and replace after flashing these so that you all don't use wrong IMEIs, MAC addresses, Serial number etc. Also do all three wipes before flashing (data, cache and dalvik cache)...And yes, be patient cause the first boot after flashing may take up to 3 minutes...

All files posted here are to be flashed using CWM recovery with "Install zip from sdcard" option !!!

    Sure, no problem !
After several hours of search and difficulties to register onto Chinese websites ;)
I managed to find the attached file. I take no credit for the tool because it was developped by someone else (SNARL I guess)
It was missing the superuser apk inside so I put it back and also translate the steps to English.

    Here are the steps :
    - Connect the tablet in Debug USB mode
    - Launch root.bat
    - The device will reboot at each of the 3 steps

If you need more info, don't mind to ask!
