Ok, this is not the place for WiFi issues and I doubt my problems have got anything to do with the Shpongle ROM. I just wanted to add some details to it.

I installed Wolf WIFI Pro just to realize it doesn't detect any APs in reach. It only 'remembers' the cellar AP but it also does some sort of detection since it shows different signal levels from it: -51 dBm when I'm close to it and -89 dBm from a distance. This makes sense since dBm is a negative figure representing something like the 'loss of signal strength' e.g. by distance or by the number of walls or ceilings to go through.

I guess I should try to update the radio next.
