I know using the program didn't get the job done for me either. I would try putting it on the phone's memory card and pushing via terminal console. That's what I did and it worked fine.
If you have any troubles, or need help getting your images put together, let me know.
Thats ok man, I am glad this worked well for you. Thank you for giving it a try!! If you are on a PC and you cant see the thanks button it could be that you are using the classic theme. You can check that at the bottom left corner of the page you are viewing .well thank you. I would hit the button to say thanks, but it seems to be missing?
Thank you for downloading it and giving it a tryI must be blind but I can't find the "Thanks" button. So....
THANKS!!! This is a perfect tool!!
Here is how to flash a new splash screen image to your phone using Terminal emulator. Please keep in mind that as with any mod you can damage your phone beyond repair if done incorrectly.
1. Rename your 480x800 .img file to custom.img and move it to your sdcard.
2.Open Terminal Emulator and type "su" to get a #
3.Then type this exactly as it appears and hit enter. Make sure not to make any mistakes!!!
Code:dd if=/mnt/sdcard/custom.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p19
It should show you that the file has transfered. You can now back out of terminal emulator and reboot your phone to see the new splash screen.
