[Q] Boot Loop + only "Download" mode accessible = MMC spoilt?
Hi!, I'm new to this forum, so sorry if there's any repeated questions..
My Galaxy Note (international -- Jellybean 4.1.2) suddenly had a power up problem after a night's rest.
On powering up, it's having boot-loop problems -->
1. On power up, the Galaxy Note GT-N7000 screen is displayed.
2. the samsung logo displays glowing and plays,
3. And after a while, it automatically shutdowns by playing the Samsung logo animation (normally when power off).
4. It will automatically repeat (back to 2.)
As it's out of warranty (i had it for 1.5 years..), i'm quoted the possibility of paying $214(replace board)+$30 (diagnostic) to replace the motherboard at the Samsung service centre. so I went on to try and self-service it first.. -- since the cost is 1/2 of a new phone contract
I can only access "download" mode (Voldown + menu + power), and not "recovery"
I've tried using
to flash the device.
So far more success comes from (B) --> i've managed to change the PIT with other variations (although it has a "failed to confirm end" error, it's set correctly when checked with Heimdall), but flashing image will cause the process to get stuck at some fixed % (eg 4% for FACTORYFS, 100% for cynagenmod recovery kernel) even with some other config.
Does it mean that the MMC chip is broken beyond repair?, or there're some other problems?
I'm now trying out other PIT files in the mean time from the useful post from hg42
to see if i can hit the correct bad block and install the cynagenrecovery-kernel on it...
Thanks in advance for any kind help!
