hi, i am getting message after when I type "su": Permission denied

i have root because i can use titanium root

can you help me please?

when i get to step 4 it says mount : operation not permitted.. any help?

heres what it says:

You did not follow steps correctly...
Follow the additional steps for god sake because you have -rwxr- and you need to have -rwsr-...

You need to have your handset with you so you can tick the super user permission.

I am not sure, did you have your phone connected via USB storage?
Also did you run it as administrator.

And are you running 2.1? Also I recommend re-rooting using the new 2.1 root.

when i run it as administrator it comes out with ( yes i'm using 2.1 root )

NOTE: Before you start, please install either Sony Ericsson
Update Service or PC Companion.

Do you have phone connected VIA Usb debugging and no USB storage?

For automated permission detection you can you use these lines:-

Error in step 3 may caused by.

1. Wrong file structure or missing files, make sure that the depot files are in the structure as it should and all files are exist.
2. SD-card is mounted, do not let the X10 mount SD-card.

*** You must read all posts and carefully verify the result when the script is running.

You need to have your handset with you so you can tick the super user permission.


sorry, but i bit confused. what you mean handset with me ? where i have to tick super user permission?

I just follow the step and type SU and getting Permission denied. There is nothing to tick on the phone.

ok. now i did it, but after my phone is restarting at Sony ericsson. still restarting.

How do I get to boot loader menu? Some Key combination?
Power and Home or Cam or Volume- won't work

Ok, so the task I set myself for today,was to install a theme from the terminal on my Linux box, which I did successfully.

I was doing it as a puzzle so I'm only now looking at the threads. A few things I discovered... you can use root explorer to set the r/w permissions. This may make it easier for those who have difficulty with this part. Deleting the 'unknown' app (which is your computer) from superuser may help you connect. I don't know why? It just seems to prefer virgins for some reason ;-)

    Additional things to remember-
    You need root. ONE CLICK ROOT FOR 2.1 LINK- http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=834428
    You need to read all steps carefully.

    Go to the theme file and click that. *REMEMBER TO RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR*

    When you open it, it will look like this.

    Type 1, Enter. Now as you can see mines shows -rwxr- it is meant to show -rwsr- you will need do the additional steps to get it to -rwsr- but if it shows
    -rwsr- then you may continue normally.

    Now make sure you have done what I have highlighted in red. *EVERYTHING HIGHLIGHTED IN RED IS IMPORTANT* Press any key to continue.

    It will start backing up your applications.

    It will start installing applications.

    Type 5 and press enter. Now when the installation is done your phone would've changed and it may enable USB storage...*GO TO YOUR HANDSET AND DISABLE USB STORAGE IF IT HAS ENABLED*

    I had the same issues as the other. Thanks for posting this _calum_ i'll give it a go and provide feedback.

    I can confirm that this update works for 2.0.2.A.0.24. I just ran the CMD file and followed the onscreen instructions. MAKE SURE YOU READ ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS...and you will be fine.
