A few suggestions for JB eXperience!
I wanted to post this in the JB eXperience thread, but the forum system didn't let me.
I have to mention that this kind of behavior regarding new users who might have suggestions for improvement is not constructive at all.
Firstly I must say I'm really thankful to you for this great improvement!
I like to mention a few suggestions regarding the installation instruction for JB eXperience that I think will be much helpful to people that are new to android flashing like me.
1. One thing that hesitated me very much and made me repeat the whole operation 4-5 times was the AROMA installer's app selection menus:
The earlier pages say "Select apps you want to install
but the page for stock apps says "Select stock apps you want to remove
This was surely a mistake of mine that I didn't read every page's initial text
, but I think this will be true for some others as well. Because people read the first 2 pages and assume the third is like them, but it is not, and they remove what they want to install and install what they want to remove!
So please change the method for stock apps, or make the text's difference more clear.
2. In the instructions of post #4, you said "Wipe Dalvik Cache" but the option for it in the CWM recovery menu is located inside a submenu, and there is another option in the main menu named "Wipe Cache", so this was another mistake of mine, and I guess stating the path to "Wipe Dalvik Cache" option and making clear that "Not the Wipe Cache in the main menu" will help many others, and surely will be so much appreciated.
3. Please state the method for booting into CWM recovery mode in the instructions, as this will be another hesitating problem for beginners like me. People(like me) can search for the method for booting into CWM recovery mode, but the first thing they find is that
The easiest way is to select boot into Recovery Mode from ROM Manager
and they go for installing Rom Manager, and they find out that in order for ROM Manager to boot into recovery mode they need rooting first, and this will be a big hesitation that
if the eXperience is said to be pre-rooted, so rooting is not supposed to be done earlier(as it is not stated in the instructions) but if so, how to boot into Recovery Mode from ROM Manager?
plus they have heard doing it from ROM Manager is the easiest way!
So this is what happened to me!
Off course you can find other threads that beginners like me ask such very simple questions! So please state the "volume down during boot logo" method in the instructions for booting into CWM recovery mode.
Thank you very much for your great efforts!
