Hmm this seems to not working on every phone. Tried it with gt-i8160P and it says no intialization for this phone compatible 
It didn't found one there. ....

One last thing, the time taken to download the whole firmware is approximately 5 minutes on my internet connection which is shocking.
The firmware consists of aprox. 800 mb of data which is no way being downloaded this quick. Can you assure that the WHOLE firmware is downloaded?
It's hardly 100 mb which can be downloaded in 5 minutes on my connection

It actually downloads after download mode..... When you click start......Nope, i think it downloads only the update
What's the point making the phone sit for hours waiting just to complete the download? The Samsung logic

I have Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005.
I only have this info about my phone that is written in the above line.. because I bought it in used condition, I don't know whether it is repaired or refurbished.. it was working fine on Android 5.0 (it had some Vodafone apps) then I tried to install 7.1.2 but it failed because I wiped out system before installing.. I gave it to a repairman who installed 4.4 on it and that was not working fine I again tried to install STOCK 5.0 on it through Odin but at last it failed and said "invalid ext4".. now my phone only says " Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again"
Now please please please tell me, what can I do.??? It's a serious problem for me

40About this Guide:
In this guide you will learn how to Update your phone to the latest stock firmware available for your device for your region/country with Kies.
- You will make your device status from Un-official To Official.
- Your device will get Un-Rooted and all the changes you have made by rooting the device will be fixed .
- If you have flashed wrong stock ROM or of other Region/Country this will fix it.
- Fix software problems you face :fingers-crossed:
Note:
- If you have Bricked your device or your device is Not booting Up This thread is Not for you.
- For those who face Software problems are requested to try resetting your Phone to check if it fixes by it Before trying this.
Difficulty level: Easy
Things you need:
- A computer with Kies installed.
- Internet Connection.
- USB Cable.
- A working Brain .
- Of-course the device to be updated.
Note:
For Example I will be using My Device - Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini "GT-I8190N"
Step 1:
- Open Kies
- Go to Tools
- Firmware Upgrade and Instantiation
Step 2:
- Enter Your Phone Model Number
Go to Settings --> About Phone, Find Your Model Number
Note: You Should Enter As it is in Settings i.e, "GT-I8190N"
Step 3:
- Now Enter your device Serial Number
Note: Go to Settings--> Status--> Find Serial Number. :highfive:
Step 4:
- Click "OK" to the Dialogue boxes
Now It will start Downloading Drivers etc to Flash..
Step 5:
- Check "I have read all of the above Information."
- Connect your device
- Select "Proceed without saving"
- Then Click "Start Upgrade"
- All Moste Done! :highfive:
It will now download and flash the Firmware to Your Device
Step 6:
- Your device will Reboot and Install the firmware.
- Reboot and You're Done!
Congratulations! Your Device is Now Official!
Step 7:
Hit the thanks button

And some devices like Galaxy y GT-S5360 are not supported by Kies.
It is not only for 4.1+
I used this 1-2 months back on my SGS+ I9001 to install Android 2.3.6 from 2.3.4
