To fix your SD card, restart the rom once or twice after having gone into the storage option in Settings.

The only thing that fixed my external SD mounting was to install in boot manager .it's the weirdest thing!

Which firmware do you have? ICS changed the mount location of the SD card and if you're running the Gingerbread firmware then the rom won't see the external card. There were a lot of backports made when they first started releasing ICS roms where the devs would put in support for both.

Regardless of the firmware the rom will not see the external SD
As far as back ports.. no
All the firmware patches were is a audio lib and a modified vold.fstab to compensate for the mount changes

When you say that what do you mean? I can see all my files on my SD card and my ringtones as well. Under storage it isn't listed though.

My pictures on my SD card, files and music are all visible using es file explorer. Are others not able to see their SD card? I did install using boot manager if that helps
