FroyoParts.apk For F4T 1.8.2

All credit and thanks go to EZTerry for this as it's his original work and can be found Here. All I have done is fiddled about with it to make it work on this rom.

That being said I have been working on an update to get cc working and also FroyoParts.apk to activate/deactivate apps2ext, dex2sd, CC control, 3d toggle and home in memory

Just used it from clean install and everything seems to be working correctly so enjoy the new addon and FroyoParts.apk

What is it you ask.. It adds support for many things on top of the base rom

(This is a no-wipe update for F4T 1.8.2)

1) Add support for init.d scripts
2) Add support for 'adb remount'
3) Add support for live wallpapers (apk kanged from CM nightly 307)
4) Add busybox in a squashfs (binaries kanged form CM nightly 238; and repacked since I didn't want all of them) Note FAT182Addon restores the toolbox netstat link to correctly display netstat information again.
5) Add LWP fix (fixes various 3D) via init.rc permissions (based on firerats work) updated in FAT182Addon to fix slow performance in many games. Can be reversed easily by checking/unchecking in FroyoParts.apk
6) Added fix_permissions script (this one kanged from biffmod 2.1)
7) Load ipv6 on boot
8) apn list from CM238 nightly
9) flash_image from CM238 nightly
10) date verification; if year is < 2010 set the date to a more recent date (prevents initial boot boot loops for some users)
11) And Last but not least:
Added "Froyo Parts" apk custom menu interface (this is ALL EzTerry's work, don't forget to thank him)

Testing at the moment and is working for me but want to test further and thats where you come in

Froyo for Trout 1.6 is fastest than ezterry's 2.2.1 (IMO).
Now I'm going to flash 1.8.2

beats it. specially after incorporating froyo parts and getting apps2sd. runnin with 43mb free on autokiller. every animation is smooth and there is not one hiccup while scrolling apps drawer. its truly impressive.

turnin black backrounds on in messaging apps cuases some weird color distortions. problably needs to be fixed...but thats just cosmetic.

Works perfectly here fella, try deleting the apk and pushing through adb to see if it was a dodgy flash or possibly redownload if still not working correctly.

No. Probably won't.

From OP:
Install Instruction:
-If coming from another rom please wipe before flashing this rom
-This rom does not have any software mandatory request (radio,spl,etc). Uses older radio and spl combo
-If you have the newer radio and spl combo, please flash the kernel after flashing this rom!
Use this kernel from this post or use this kernel from this site.
-Flash this rom in recovery mode the standard way.

1) If I have build number FRG83 what version of Froyo for trout am I on?

2) If I'm outdated, and need to upgrade, will flashing this without wiping keep all my apps and settings?

I am still working on this project. I am sorry it didn't make it in this or a previous build. I have not forgot about it...

This build is a Froyo FRG83...

But it also has modification version
To know what modversion your running do
From the terminal emulator or adb shell, type:

Code:

getprop ro.modversion

This will tell you the modified version name/number.

Also:

This rom does not erase the data partition. All your data would still be intact.

Another 'assert failed: getprop' failure

I've tried both 1.6 and 1.82 versions of the ROM, both bomb out when trying to flash using RA recovery 1.7.0G

I may be blind or something, but I'm not finding anything in the thread that points to anything I'm missing or doing wrong.

BTW, firerat has a c revision of his script out now, the mirror on the first page is still rev b.

EDIT: Gah, I'm a moron. It was the recovery. Once I moved back to RA recovery 1.7.0 for the G1 (notice the lack of a G, which is a MT3G version), it worked.

Dont understand what you mean fella? The FroyoParts was built by Terry for his ASOP rom and I converted and tweaked it for use on this rom. As for the rest I believe I have given credit where it is due.

quick question what would cause the gallery out of the blue to quit working if i use a file manager the pics are there but if I goto gallery i get nothing. then I get gibberish then back to the home screen.

First guess would be bad flash, second maybe the non removal of android and android_secure folders may have caused a conflict.
