ALT Button

hey!
i noticed that the "Alt" button stopped working since i installed this ROM
any ideas how to fix it?
and is there a way to assign "Home" button to show up Today screen?

Youtube issues!

Hey dotcompt,

Great great ROM. I think this is one of the, if not the, smoothest ROM I have flashed so far.

Everything except YOUTUBE works. For some reason, launching the app takes a few tries. Searching video works fine, but the video does not play even after changing settings.

So a fix for youtube would pretty much make this ROM flawless.

Any suggestions.....

I am trying to fix this anoying youtube issue, meantime you can use Coreplayer cooked in this Rom because it has youtube integration channlels. Let me know if you need help to setup coreplayer.

TIP: Flashing a stock Rom first and than flash this Rom after usually clears all bugs. I advise you guys to always use this method specially when your previous Rom is another cooked Rom.

hey dotcom,

Can you tell us when you are going to release your new build? We don't need it, cos v4 is a good ROM so no pressure. Just curious :).

Also, is there a way to make the phone faster bij removing some featgures like the animated wallpaper/weather? Personally, I don't care about the flashy animations. they actually annoy me. For me it's about the functionality. But I'm not able to get just a wallpaper with no animation.

you can use wallpaper without animations, on the home tab press menu -> home wallpaper -> Animated wallpaper -> Albums -> All -> and you can choose the wallpaper you want.

Hi nihil38,

There must be something that you are doing that is causing this issue. Try to remember whats cabs you installed, manually registry changes, it must be something because my phone does not have this issue.

I remember a few weeks ago that I have the same problem just by installing the voice command app.

New DeepShining v5 is up

Hi guys,

I know that I have released the v4 a few days back but I was compelled to release a new version today because there was so many updates and new features in this new Rom that I could wait more, so here it is:

DeepShining v5 Change Log:
  1. Updated to Leo 1.49
  2. HTC Sense Core 2.5.1921 updated
  3. Updated to 21884 WM6.5 Build
  4. New HTC Sense Interface look (see teaser screenshots above)
  5. SmartLyrics included (view Lyrics while listening music)
  6. Swype is here too (more about Swype)
  7. 16 shortcuts added to Home Tab & working propelly
  8. MyPhone SMS bug fixed
  9. Reduced Ram usage

PLEASE SOFT RESET AFTER FLASH ENDS.

Now, I know that this one is going to be controversial as I decided to use a different look of HTC sense interface (blue), which I personnaly love so much.

I am going to add a poll to this Thread, just give it a try and share with me your opinion about the interface.

Yes, Leo dialer it is the 2g dialer and should be used by ATT&T users if you want 3g dialer with video/conference please download the Rhodium version.

Great ROM

I must say that this ROM is the quickest and most stable ROM with 2.5 I have used. However, I was unable to get Seven working on this ROM. Unfortunately this is a deal breaker for me as I get a ton of email using this service. I just wanted to say excellent work. I will try flashing a newer version when I have a chance to see if this was just some freak issue.

    BTW, almost forgot about the Thanks button that only a few deepshining users are using. Joe Bleau made me thinking and I will probably use my Thanks Meter as a reference to release a new ROM. This said, my next goal is 100 thanks and at this moment 69 thanks are missing.

    This will probably be the end of deepshining development. :D:D:D

    A lot of a hard work but it is finally here:

    This said there are a few things that bugged me so here are some fixes that could be integrated in the nextROMs:

    Autolock on screen turning off: that is a major annoyance IMO. I don't need the phone to auto lock all the time when it's lying on my desk. I searched for a switch or app to enable/disable in Start but could not find any. After searching the thread: auto lock returns 12 results, autolock returns 16 and lock returns 220 with a bunch of registry tweak fixes but that's not viable to disable/enable on the fly.

    It turns out that it's the LockDevice V1.6 by Daniel Herrero rey that is cooked currently but w/o the GUI link to change the settings. Using Total Commander, I found the LockDeviceGUI.lnk in phone/Windows and copied it to Start but I got an error on running it. The solution was to download the LockDevice_V1.6.CAB from Herrero's thread Et voilà! A new LockDevice link in Start Menu and no more swiping to unlock every few minutes. :) Maybe it should be disabled by default w/ info in the FAQ's about the LockDevice GUI app?

    Next, looking in the Start Menu, I saw the bland File Explorer and then in Tools an other File Explorer but with the logo of the awesome Total Commander. :confused: And when adding a quicklink on Home or Programs tabs, one can see the same thing in the popup program list choices.

    So, using said Total Commander (a.k.a. Tools/"File Explorer" or "Explorer" on the Action screen): > navigate to Windows > Start Menu > Tools > tap & hold "File Explorer" & rename it to the proper Total Commander. After doing that, while still in TC, move the link to Start\Programs so you can put it next to File Explorer. I use TC 20 times a day so no reason to mislabel it and hide it in Tools IMO. ;) I made a small cab that changes the TC icon to a better one found in the ROM in the same style as the one for the File Explorer. Just copy the cab to memory card & run from there AFTER renaming the link.

    The Call History metro style icon on the slider bar really clashes with the rest and it's smack in the middle by default so after some research, it turns out that the files in this ROM for that tab are:

    6BECE1ED_manila, 13C88F06_manila, 17148F3B_manila and 461884d8_manila.

    I extracted only them from theuser's Slider Tab Icons Pack cab and cabbed them for your convenience. Those blue book/phone/history icon files are in this ROM's Windows directory but their name was shortened by 1 digit so that clashing metro thing could take it's place. :confused:

    Finally, the cooked bnm7bnm's Colored HTC Comm Manager tab + 11 Buttons has nice color icons but for some reasons the slider switch are RED when turned off. An eyesore and it attracts the eye on stuff that's turned off. :confused: So I made an other simple cab to fix this. BTW it would be nice to have the same style of colored icons (for consistency & fast visual identification) in the Slider > Settings tab. ;)
