Thanks.
If possible, you should SBF back to stock.

Will this method work for a Droid X on Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread and with build # 4.5.1_57_DX8-51 on baseband BP_C01.09.15P . Also is there a new one click type solution by now on a Mac?

I have verified it works with these Motorola devices running android 2.3.4

Just to be clear, this is the most efficient method of root for the Droid X at its latest OTA update correct?

your choice

There is only 2 methods to get root:

1. use the magic 5 method to get a stock rooted .621 proper kernel, radio and WIFI or

2. use the .604 milestone method, but if you do it this way you have to be sure to use the patches to get your proper kernel back and your wifi because you wont be able to run any 2init ROMS or use WIFI unless you flash over the patches........ This method was the first root method and is way outdated, it can be used still but its just a hassle so I would use the magic 5 method, it keeps you stock and your rooted so you can run any 2Init rom you want thats compatible with your version.

Keep in mind though that your stuck on the gingerbread and you cannot revert to froyo so if you want to use 2Init ROMS please make sure they are for the GB kernel, there are alot of different versions out there and if you use the wrong one you got yourself an instant brick and you will have to do the the process over again from the start because when you brick you cant get back to CWM recovery, it will always take you to stock recovery and you cant run your CWM backup from that.
