wow! i must be one of the lucky fews to get pocketsnes working?
like i said earlier, i'm running on the new 1.33 HTC rom, i dont think it'll make much of a diffrence. Make sure you app unlock ur dash, install the tgetfile.dll something, then run pocketsnes 1.53.
at 186 MHz clock, game will be slow if sound turned on. at 252MHz, everything should be playable. Some games wont load. either the copy is bad or incompatiable.
if you google for the required files, you'll find them. only two anyway.

So what's the magic trick?

How does everyone else have so many problems and you get it to work perfectly? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure why so many people are having problem with the emulator. I've made pocketsnes 1.53 work w/ 4 of my friends dash already. I've also made them work with 4 different version of wm6 roms such as, wm5, wm6, rogers wm6, New Bright HTC roms (currently using).

BTW I had a problem w/ one of my friends dash. I created an extra folder and when I try to load the roms I wasn't able to find any. Once I delete that extra folder the roms was found and playable.

-Application Unlock
-Create folder PocketSNES 1.53 in storage card
-Inside folder PocketSNES 1.53 , I create another folder and named it "Emulator".
-Inside the Emulator Folder I only put the PocketSNES.exe file
-All roms go inside PocketSNES 1.53 folder NOT the emulator folder
-Install tgetfile.dll
-Go to Emulator Folder and load up PocketSNES
-Configure Display modes and Keys in option.
-Files , load roms, and wallah it works.

All my roms are extracted they're not in zip files. Hope this help.

I got pocketSNES to work this morning with no problems at all. I've been playing FF6 (FF3) since. I simply gave up on SNES emulation back in August after trying to get it to work for 7 months. It seems Masterall updated the emulator back in October allowing it to work for widescreen smartphones.

I don't think thats possible as of yet or even ever. GBA hardware requirement is definitely gonna be more than 64mb of rams and 200mhz processor.

Snazzy, thanks for the screenshots..
My version of PocketSNES was wrong and don't have the option for Portait Large. I've download from http://www.modaco.com/content/Smartphone-Software-Games/237589/PocketSNES-1-53/, but I have problems extracting the Rar file but now it's OK and I'm running the 1.53 version.

I'm gonna test and post later.
Thanks so much.

Edit: Now it's working fine at full screen.
Damm rar file!
Thansk !!!

SmartGear Emulator

Hey all, this may be old news, but after many, many, MANY hours of searching, I have finally found a GOOD emulator for WM smartphone, that ALSO WORKS on 6.1....and it is called SmartGear. It emulates NES, GameBoy and Gameboy Color, Super Nintendo, Genesis, and Master System...all in one tiny 1.5MB program! The downside, is that it costs 10USD to register, BUT it is free to try, although gameplay is limited to 2 minutes per rom:/// so if anyones got a keygen or somethin for this, PLEASE post it(ive already bought it, so its not needed for me personally, just for the community to have), but none the less, check it out at-http://www.bitbanksoftware.com/SmartGear.html

PS, did I mention that it emulates SNES and Genesis games AT FULL SPEED WITH SOUND?????!!!! Hmm, interesting eh? Oh but BTW, I DO reccommend that you do overclock your processor to 240MHZ for full speed sound. Enjoy!

Sure sure ;D There is no need to pirate smartgear, its only 10 dollars and bitbank did an amazing job on it, definitely deserves the money.

Speaking of which i think i need to buy another copy since i lost my registration code

I actually used this at one time, but even with the current one i can't get the sound to play properly with sega genesis games. it seems like the one of the two layers of sound are missing when i play it or other games. So i get background music but not the sound efx. And ive tried configure the settings every which way i could but with no luck... so i guess its back to pico drive for genesis and snes9x for my snes games and pocket nester for my nes games

i dont play with sound, it lags too much even overclocked. im sure smartgear has the same prob., cuz 264mhz is just too slow. the only emulator with sound is the NES 1. cuz the graphics is just basic colors.

for the full screen, get the newest version and u have more options for video.

nope, if you overclock your dash, excalibur whatever to at least 240MHZ, SmartGear will run Genesis and SNES games with sound, full screen, at 55-60FPS according to the built in FPS counter. IE that=full spead

I havnt even tried to run it with sound because it read it made it slow. But i did try to play music through windows media player while a played. I think i just need a better rom to make both run smoothly. I still have the original.
