thanks for the quick reply JP. Well the reception at my home is good i d say 80 % signal is always there and at work its near a window where the phone is kept and that has good signal. I am now on radio 2.14.50 for TMOUS and 3.1.2 light ver with kernel 5.4 and dormancy on. Now the shocking part last three hours my phone was on flight mode and battery widget pro days the drain was between 15-20 Ma

Scared could it be a bad battery or bent pins ?????

No, the drain measured is what the system uses...

Try to install BetterBatteryStats (search on xda, it's free), it might tell you what is keeping your device awake, thus using battery juice in standby.

thnx for the quick replie..

once again im lost in the world of xda.....
i'm having some issues with typhoons rom (blackscreens aftercalls needs reboot, pretty anoying) so im looking for a good stable rom for daily use.

so the question is if use this kernel wil my problem be fix?
iff I need the dorimanx rom plz link.

other question can I only use the CM7? or the other theme's allso? exept dori

- though I no longer use Typhoon rom, I can vouch that it doesn't get more stable...mostly because it is not an Enthusiast based rom. It's primary goal is to be closest to Cm7 source. Try reinstalling rom over existing installation. OR, try using a slightly older rom version since maybe the latest version has introduced this BLACKSCREEN after calls ISSUE.

- try going to settings/call settings/keep screen awake and Always use Proximity. Toggle and test with these 2 settings and see if they have any effect.

- It's pretty simple to upgrade to Dx rom as well by installing overtop of Typhoon rom. You could try that (do a backup). This will give you the rom/kernel package. Use the light version for simplicity and perhaps don't use extra options like data-to-ext or Odex etc. Keep it simple at first. You can always reinstall (without losing data) and add those options in.

- Kernel will doubtfully fix your blackscreen issue...but why not try? Just do a backup first and your set.

God Luck

---------- Post added at 01:52 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:39 PM ----------

First of all you are so lucky that you get such awesome battery backup

I need your help and others also please advise

I am located in mumbai india
My carrier is Reliance GSM has 3g and 2g, I checked and it appears the network does support fast dormancy hence i always keep it on
I am using a TMOUS HD2 with transcend 32 gb class 4 card and i alwatys use the high end rom with advanced task killer set to kill apps on screen off
I always keep data on edge and in stand by my drain is 15-20 Ma but when i use the phone the drain goes as high as 740
I am using the latest radio 2.15.50 for TMOUS
the kernels I have tried are 3.2, 5.7, 5.8, all 6 series kernels still the drain is the same high. Even fast dormancy off gives a similar drain, I also have 4 bad blocks and hence i have set up a 300mb partition with 2 gb SD ext 4 and 256 swap.

Last point to make, after trying everything i decided to format the sd and then installed winmo>task29>magldr>partition>partition sd> install rom and have not installed a single app apart from the included in the rom still the drain is very high.

Am extremely sorry for a very loooong post but please help so that we can identify the issue

I think your post was thorough. Good to give as much info as possible. :D

- I would try AP mode (which you did) it's always good to eliminate the Radio when diagnosing drain issues.
- what CPU gov are you using? Try SmartAssV2 and during testing maybe keep it at 245-998mhz. (Set Cpu will do this for you in case you don't know)
- as another user mentioned...Better Battery Stats can really give good information about what may be stuck ON in the background....WAKE LOCKS etc.
- Current Widget set to log at 30sec intervals (no less) and see what your numbers are over at least a 10-20min period.
- do you have another SDcard you can try?
- install the rom package without any of the Odex/data-ext/fast-dormancy features etc.
- is there any app running in the background after your fresh install? I mean...is ATK app considered part of your fresh install? When you say Fresh Install...is there any chance an app like Facebook or Email is constantly polling? And how are you measuring battery drain anyway?

---------- Post added at 02:05 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:52 PM ----------

Dorimanx,
Less than a day on 6.6b, no zram, 500mb sdSwap, no odex/d2sd/vpn.

- speed...feel factor says faster/smoother than 6.6a...immediately noticed that.
- stable so far...no weird behavior
- bt/gps good
- wifi...speed test best ever. Peaked at 14mbps. Older kernels peaked at 9-10. But I haven't tested this in a while so not sure when it got so fast.
- Standby Drain test last night...9hrs=6% drain with wifi/GPS/voice ON! That's pretty darn good. CpuSpy/CurrentWidget/Battery Info all confirm this happy drain.
- 96-1400mhz SaV2 working perfect as usual. "Please don't remove this lower clock option even if it's 90% placebo". :D
- GT....greeeeeaaaaat!!!
- games...to me seems normal...but maybe even a bit faster as when I did my loose tests, I noticed fluidity improvements in a couple of games. Could be circumstances too! Certainly not slow.
- ummmmmm... 500mb sdSwap....really good....not perfect but surprisingly stable.

Hi,

Been on 6.6B for around a day, everything's working just fine, WiFi, BT, network apps, calling etc. And yes I confirm, coming from 5.7, it feels as fast as 5.7, so it seems a "good one" to me ;)

I've noticed with the later versions a small drawback in BT use, though, including 6.6B, it doesn't display caller names through BT anymore for me...

Will try to dig deeper into this as I can find some spare time.

JP.

PS: Can't say anything as to GPS wakelock until tomorrow morning...

*Performance and stability are great, but need to test by more people.

For HD2 Device!
Kernel 6.6C BETA (in beta folder)

*Compiled with GCC 4.4.3 Android as CM9 rom and kernel
*Added some CPU code fix from CM9 kernel.
*Added GZIP compression instead of XZ, should boot faster and operate faster,
Gzip is the lowest compression, so CPU working less to operate drivers from kernel.

Can someone tell me what I doing wrong. My governor always jumping after a short time back at conservative. It does not matter what software I use (SetCPU, No-frills Control CPU CPU or master). It jumps back after a short time to conservative. But for so far it's a great kernel!

.... no problems, m8...if i can, I help, no matter how looong is your post... :D

... as for your question, I believe that I cannot be much helpul to you, because the configuration of our devices are quite different ..... starting from the radio used to finish the ... microSD :p ...

... I give you a small list, so you know it yourself ....

... HD2 EU - Rom 3.6.1.2 Light - CLK 1.4 - CMW 3.0.1.4 - 2 Gb ext4 - no swap - no dormancy - no ZRAM - data2ext On - MicroSD Samsung 32Gb Class10 - Radio 2.15.50.14 - Governor Hyper 96-1152 - 357 apk onboard :p - task killer when need ... this is the essence of my Leo ...

... Now, I don't know if it's a problem with your carrier (as mentioned by yank555) or whatever ... AFAIK it could also be a physical problem of your battery ... but what I can tell you is that I use some strategies to reduce consumption ... such as not to leave the data connections always on, but use them only when really necessary, or use an apk JuiceDefender as to minimize the connections and consumption, or set the screen backlight as suggested by Dorimanx itself in the first post of his rom's thread, or even use a handsome but conservative governor (at least for me) as Hyper ... this is what I do, and the rest is done by the fantastic kernel made by Dori ... I apologize if the above is not of much help to you, and especially for my bad English ... but I hope I have explained how I can achieve those results ... :)

Awesome I love you goys for the effort to provide me detailed info god bless you all

Ok now for the issue i have decided to clone your phone
heres what i did
phone tmous hd2
radio 2.15.50.14
Rom 3.6.1.2 Light
Magldr
CMW 5.0.2.6
2 Gb ext4
no swap
no dormancy
no ZRAM
data2ext On
MicroSD Samsung 32Gb Class4
Radio 2.15.50.14
Governor Hyper 96-1152
task killer when need ...

Now with the above setup i am going to test my drain today as I am on kernel 6.6b

Thnaks a ton for the reply mate hope i get good battery life

I think your post was thorough. Good to give as much info as possible. :D

Yup even Ap mode gave me high drain

- what CPU gov are you using? Try SmartAssV2 and during testing maybe keep it at 245-998mhz. (Set Cpu will do this for you in case you don't know)
I will try that today but i dont like set cpu i se cm performance settings

- as another user mentioned...Better Battery Stats can really give good information about what may be stuck ON in the background....WAKE LOCKS etc.
I have been using better battery stats for a while but still did not understand how to operate it and what a wakelock means ???

- Current Widget set to log at 30sec intervals (no less) and see what your numbers are over at least a 10-20min period.
I am using battery monitor widget pro with 30 secs interval and MA correction turned on

- do you have another SDcard you can try?
nope no other sd card sad :-(

- install the rom package without any of the Odex/data-ext/fast-dormancy features etc.
current install no odex data ext yes (have 4 bad blocks) fast dormancy off and light 3.6.2

- is there any app running in the background after your fresh install? I mean...is ATK app considered part of your fresh install? When you say Fresh Install...is there any chance an app like Facebook or Email is constantly polling? And how are you measuring battery drain anyway?

whats app and fb

What do you mean.
Why do you have always GPS on?
There are many apps who use it but do not need it if you do not need Navigation at the moment.

I only turn it on for Navigation apps and so no problem.

My kernel is based on Tytung Latest ICS, But Tree 2.6.32.59 Main Line! + My Tweaks and install menu.
To use my initrd that included in kernel, you must have 2.3.4 and UP ROM

    My GIT Repository
    HERE

WORK ON ROMS with no changes:

    MY ROM

    Typhoon ROM

May work for MIUI! use it in install menu.

WILL NOT WORK Unless you use your ROM initrd.gz:

Put your initrd.gz in kernel zip folder initrd-Custom

For ANY 2.3.3 and lower you have to add the initrd.gz
For SENSE ROM you have to add the initrd.gz

    clip_image001.gif

Fix was been made by Marc the great kernel DEV from .35 kernel.

*Added fix for auto button on in dark and off in light, now we can switch to old ways, 10 sec on then off till touched, or screen off/on this is the default in ROM if you need to have auto light on /off depend on light, edit the 13_modules script in init.d and look for #KEYBOARDAUTOLIGHTON

Remove the # save (remove the .bkp) and reboot or run this for imitate effect.
    echo 1 > /sys/devices/platform/btn_backlight_manager/button_auto
but it will be cleared on next boot, so 13_modules script change is needed.

Fix was been made by Great Kernel Dev Munjeni by my request for you all

*Added max CPU freq to 1.6 with 1375 voltage
*Fixed the CPU settings, so 998000 is really 1Ghz and 1.61 is MAX overclock! It’s slightly faster than Tytung 1.19Ghz because of more voltage!
So to get non overclocked device use 998000 this is also the default!
*Added minor stable tweaks for best kernel support and faster ROM!
see /system/etc/init.d/13_modules (my ROM users have them all in 2.9.9 ROM)

    *Added new kernel modules:

    • Enable cleancache pseudo-RAM driver to cache clean pages
    • Run-time PM core functionality
    • ZRAM XVMALLOCATOR
    • Compressed in-memory swap device (zram) + activation scripts for CM7
    • Page cache compression support
All Run auto! Except the ZRAM swap!
All you need to know is HERE
To activate the ZRAM in CM7
At Kernel Install, choose from menu to install ZRAM SWAP

Go to settings > CyanogenMod > Performance > Compcache RAM usage
Use 26% for 110MB virtual ram swap (best choose)
Or lower, or you can disable it any time.
Reboot needed to apply the change.

    After reboot!
You can check the swap load / stats
    Here is how to:
Open terminal or connect by ADB SHELL

    Code:
    su -
    free
#This will show you that you have swap! and 0 used!

      zram_stats

#this will show you the usage + statistics in KB
    Also the compression rate
      Short info:
Compression is with LZO algorithm. already in kernel
ZRAM is RAM based SWAP, so it's take 357MB RAM and make them 700! or close to 720MB by compressing the data pages!
CPU will work slightly more, when compressing RAM, but when done, it's will be free as was.
This mod was lost for too long! time to activate it again!
Also the old mod was called ramzswap! This project is closed, now it's new 2011 project in mainline! Now it's ZRAM!

Thanks for all the donations! [IMG]file:///C:/Users/lastman/AppData/Local/Temp/msohtmlclip1/01/clip_image001.gif[/IMG]this is really help [IMG]file:///C:/Users/lastman/AppData/Local/Temp/msohtmlclip1/01/clip_image002.gif[/IMG]09/11/11 Time:00:05

*Added menu to kernel! now there is only one kernel for all!
Navigate in menu with volume down.
Menu goes only forward. No back choose. (Just start over)

    You can choose:
    No-2way-REC / 2way-REC ability.
CM7 + others OR sense ROM or MIUI
    MAG / CLK
With new busybox 1.19.4 STABLE! / Or without! (Stay with yours form ROM)

*Compressed kernel with LZMA compression! very small image.
*I have added the smartass V2 it's working ok most of the time!
*I have added and fixed the smartass governor!
*Added kernel optimization with new tool-chain 2010 for best compatibility.
    *Added RiserFS partition support.
*Added all commits from TYTUNG R13! (new audio driver as module, loaded with script that i have included.)

    !!! Front page alert !!!

Guys.. I have ported the bravo CM9 rom to our device and used the test kernel that securecrt sended me yesterday and I am happy to inform you all ::

WE HAVE HARDWARE ACCELERATION GOING ON OUR HD2

    FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    chrome in action !

    2evrptv.png

so now I will start fine tuning this rom.. it's a rough port with no working sound yet and probably more... but we have it !!!

THANKS YOU VERY MUCH : securecrt, Rick_1995, Dorimanx

Ok i have read all the comments 3 pages :)

I am happy that freezing the locations apk in system/app help to kill the GPS wakeup!

i will try to use the one from ICS google app package! when i get new device.

or any one that what to make the experiment can do that.

I will tune HD2 kernel some more, i see that new common commits are added to all kind of kernel that i watching.

i will try to pull them to HD2.

about HW for ICS. i checked the ZTE device kernel and i see the video driver changes..

i will try to port them to HD2.

i need to work on it non stop with device in hand.
so it's will be possible soon as i get it!

i will install TYTUNG ROM, and do the testing!

i think that we need to JUMP to CM9 as it's great (after using it on my SG2 for 2 weeks! i like it)

and with HW! it's can be done!, and i will do it!

i will build CM9 rom for HD2! but only if i can port the drivers!

if not, it's pointless, why someone want slow graphic device when it can do better with CM7?

    so stay tune :)
