Do we need full wipe when installing SR6, and tablet is on SR3 currently ?

Re: [ROM][AOSP-4.2.1][LINARO 4.7.3-Toolchain] [SR6] OFFICIAL codefireX 4.2.1 Builds

Hi,

SR6 installed. Two questions:

- why SU instead of SuperSU?

- where can I grab GalleryGoogle?

-Mainly because of this:
Unlike with some other JellyBean roms, I believe that all users should know exactly what is being built in/for the ROM. That is why all the repos I use and maintain are available for all to see and contribute to. The codefireX source links are above the download link. Please do not ask me to include any prebuilt or proprietary applications in this ROM; I will refuse, or ignore you entirely. Using non-vendor proprietary or closed source applications/ROMs is and always will be a security concern I would rather not expose users to.

-No clue, sorry. Hopefully someone else can help you with that.

There shouldn't be any need but in case you face odd behavior it's recommended to test if it happens after clean flash before reporting it.

[ROM][AOSP-4.2.1][LINARO 4.7.3-Toolchain] [SR6] OFFICIAL codefireX 4.2.1 Builds

First of all - GREAT JOB on this release !!!

Did a full wipe, installed SR6 and so far everything is working great !!!
No more "cookies not enabled" problem for Skype when trying to login using Microsoft account, no more problem for SkyDrive login....
SMS/MMS app is working (SMS only tested as my SIM is data/sms only). All apps I had on SR3 are working as expected, also.

One small graphical bug in this release, that wasn't in SR3: as shown in attached picture, in TabletUI mode "Date/Time info" in notification/toggles area, is displayed partialy over "3G/WiFi/Battery level info". Doesn't break anything, it just looks ugly :)

The other thing I've noticed is following: it seems that exposing native dialer is not enough to be able to fully activate Android native SIP support. So far I can see that there is a SIP support, and I can select when to use SIP for outbound calls, and should SIP be used for incoming calss, but there is no way to add SIP account (and set up account's parameters), or at least I didn't found a way to do so.

NEW 25.01.2013.
Found another issue: Selecting Equiliser from Apollo Player menu force closes Apollo Player !

Q: Does anyone know of any Dark theme for CyanogenMod File Manager 1.0.2 included in this ROM ?
I see support for themes but I can't find any theme anywhere.

Nope, at least not for me... I can login to my hotmail with both stock browser and chrome...

With "request desktop site" or without ? Mine works with it but it makes mail harder to read.

Backup your apps and reinstall sr6. Whit this build i resolve the issue. I can confirm this is the best rom for n7. Great battery life and performance. No lag. All feature i use works. For me phone function will be removed until it works at 100%. Thank you great work!

Thanks for the ROM. I just flashed and got Play store setup and completed exploring cfx. It's nice but I encountered a problem. Maybe it is because of my settings. The status bar has double dates when UI is set to Tablet.

Regarding above, I've found this in another Nexus 7 3G thread:

Change the DPI to 320 reboot and you will be able to add a sip account change the DPI back when u are done.

Meybe this can help devs as a starting point to resolve SIP Accounts not showing in settings issue.

I've found this CMFlieManager dark theme in attached file in another forum :) It works for me.

Best ROM for 3g IMO

I love testing out all of the great ROMs out there but the stability and speed of this one keeps me coming back for more. Thank you for your continued contributions.

Re: [ROM] [AOSP-4.2.1] [JOP40G] [Linaro 4.7.3-toolchain] [SR8] OFFICIAL codefireX Bui

Again, great, fast and stable ROM ! Thanks !

Still no "add account" button in SIP part of dialer settings when in default DPI (213), but changing DPI to 320, and rebooting, shows add account button. After setting up account, change back to default DPI, reboot, and native android SIP telephony works :) !

Apollo player -> Menu -> Equilizer force closes Apollo player (this bug was in SR3 and SR6 also)

No new issues found so far.

This should enable SIP for future releases without going through DPI changes.

This is a team effort by all Team codefireX members listed below, as well as many other developers and users in the android community. The kernel is the CM10.1 kernel built from source using cfX-Toolchain, however as of writing this thread, most all custom kernels in this forum should work.

    The codefireX team:
    • synergy(e) - lead dev
    • Mustaavalkosta - lead dev
    • michyprima - dev
    • Pnoire - bug tester and french translator
    • Rdlgrmpf - contributor
    • BananaGranola - contributor

Unlike with some other JellyBean roms, I believe that all users should know exactly what is being built in/for the ROM. That is why all the repos I use and maintain are available for all to see and contribute to. The codefireX source links are above the download link. • Click HERE for a full cfX settings feature flowchart by BananaGranola (thank you!)
    • NOT a re-named CM build
    • Based on AOSP master (not release) with regular AOSP master merges
    • Open Source as all AOSP ROMs deserve to be
    • Easily switch between a custom and "vanilla" experience in the settings app "on/off switch"
    • LOTS of customization options including quick settings
    • Built with a custom linaro based gcc4.7.3 toolchain, strict aliasing, -O3 completely (including thumb_cflags), and other Linaro optimizations such as OOM/LMK changes. JUST TRY TO FIND A FASTER SOURCE BUILT JELLYBEAN ROM!
    • Lots more but I'm boring myself already
