I bought this too and returned it, was too flimsy to hold my case and phone together.

Attached is the case I have, which I love, it's pretty durable but thick.

Still looking for a mount to use in my car that's durable and strong. I have a gooseneck that I 'permanently' mounted in my Sequoia. I just change the mount from phone to phone and keep my gooseneck in place.

I was going to consider making a slide in type pocket thingy out of some pliable aluminum or maybe make something out of some fiberglass and slide it into like a pocket. Am sure if I still twisted it sideways, the rubber and the length of the pocked the phone in landscape mode for navigation still would not slide out.

Yeah, found that setting. Works ok so long as I stay within the car home app. If I create a shortcut to one of the music apps, then enter into that app, the screen turns off. Navigation keeps the screen on, but nothing else will. I like to use google maps when driving but the screen shuts off when using that, too.
