Just for say : I use it with Haret and when I reboot the device, the init of the build make an error "ERROR no local ept for prog 02000031..." and write it always !
I try to clear Dalvik cache but no way...
The solution for me is to make a new installation with new data.

Maybe it can help you, I hope.

Cheers.

On my kais130, same logs after reboot. Wipe data and it reboot.

Thanks dzo for this great work
Happy new year

Happy new year

Cell tower location doesn,t seem to work. I don't even get that popup, which said something about allowing google to collect my location..blah blah, when I tick Use wireless networks.

Thanks a bunch DZO for this christmas present :)

My first attempt (with the stock image) failed with the 'failed to expand tar error'!
My second/third/fourth attempts (tried to remove some stuff/altered partition size/tried the .32 kernel) also failed!
Tried the fifth time after some searching and succeeded :)

Basically there were two problems:
1. Partition resize does not work on Polaris (Using A-Tools), and
2. Android build images more than 100MB (expanded size) apparently also does not work (on my Polaris atleast)

I am uploading the setup that worked for me in case it can help someone. I'll edit the post as soon as its up.
EDIT: Here's the link http://www.mediafire.com/?06u94k1m4iuk9

I have a POLA200 HTC Polaris with Type 1 LCD Panel and I used A-Tools 1.0.4 on a Windows 7 32-bit machine.

PS: I think the new black theme in gingerbread looks nice

My experience

Thanks dzo! excellent work :)

My experience ( HTC touch from Bell ) :

- had to rename file to androidinstall.tar
- first install got weird result, like missing keyboard. Then after one reboot it worked
- then downloaded RougeTools to change display to 160

I am happy with it so far :)

I'm at work and literally just read this - VERY excited.

I'm super busy, but want to check this out. Is there ANY chance any Vogue users can make a "haret" folder, RAR it up, and just upload the thing to mediafire or something? Or I can even GIVE YOU your own FTP space on one of my domains. I just want to extract to an SDCard and give it a shot, for now - and maybe flash a ROM later.

Anybody have a few minutes to do this for those of us working new year's deadlines?

Update: NEVERMIND, I took a few minutes to bleed together a few existing things I had on my SD Card and got it working, it's booting into 2.3 Gingerbread, now. If anyone else is interested in the shortcut, I'll see about uploading a HaRET pack.

Thanks, DZO!

For those of you have that tested this so far, how stable is this build on a Vogue?

So far, the most stable Froyo release I've used is Scoot's Cyanogen mod.

Seems fairly stable and about the same speed as Froyo for what I use it for.

I am using the 10-31-10 2.6.25 NBH kernel, only one that I could get working
on the vogue to allow USB sync and/or mounting as an external drive.

Any of the November dated kernels work for the phone, but I cannot get them
to work so that it will connect to a PC.

I also used Atools to edit partition size - I set System size to 113MB, Data size to 100MB

I really liked it as my daily, but switched back to my Moment because the bluetooth (media) only worked for very short distances (like 3-5 feet) and would lose sound if the phone or headset was covered. Probably a hardware issue but I listen to my headphone most of the day at work. I was using the .32 NBH if it matters.

New system image, see first post.

European languages only (makes it much smaller) and updated to 2.3.1.

Still no working GPS.

Frst: thank you, dzo, for your wonderful work.

I have installed your latest build from dec 29 2010 but had to restore previous (very first Ginger build) because Market app is missing in 29 build.

thanks

Status - Sprint HTC-6900

Test so far:

Incoming and outgoing voice calls working.

Web Browser error as google starts to load. It actually starts to display parts of the page:

Sorry!

The application Browser (process com.android.browser) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

Display screen timeout of 1 minutes causes phone to reboot.

Cell Tower Location?

If the config.xml were edited like in Fresh Froyo, would cell tower location work, at least on a GSM phone like Kaiser? I a still a day or two away from being able to build this, so can't test myself yet.

hi guys
thanks for ur work to port it on Vogue

I wanted to know that what kind of hardware does Vogue have? because we have htc opal (touch-viva) which have OMAP820 hardware but still we couldn't run 1.6
onlt Android 1.5... see these:
[PRJ][LNX] openmoko on opal
[PRJ][AND][LNX] OPANDROID (The Wing-Linux Opal branch)

as u see we have Wing codes. do u think if we eplace them with vogue's ported android, then we can run that?
if it is impossible, can any one help us to port a new android for omap?

I've built the Gingerbread AOSP release for Vogue and a system image is here:

    http://sourceforge.net/projects/androidhtc/files/system-gingerbread-29-12-10_22.tgz/download

It's not perfect yet and as you know I don't have a connected vogue any more but it should be good as a base for other roms and for testing.

The camera now works and the dialler and other activities should fit better.

This is now european languages only to make the image smaller and is android version 2.3.1 grh78

    Happy xmas.

To build it, follow the instructions in the first post of the fresh froyo thread using "-b gingerbread" instead of "-b froyo" in the first command.

New system image, see first post.

European languages only (makes it much smaller) and updated to 2.3.1.

    Still no working GPS.

Ok, try unzipping the attached into /system/lib/hw/gps.msm7k.so
This should work but no guarantees....

Here's my build. It has the calendar and contact sync features intact. .32 kernel modules are also included.

I've edited the link, it should work now.

I also had the issue with the untracked pid with the 30/12 build.

By merging in libhardware_legacy.so from the 29/12 build, but using the rest from the 30th build, I got it to boot.

I have also merged in /etc/passwd, CRKO commander, Connectbot and the .32 modules (so you don't need to apply that update) along with Gmail and Market from 30/12.

    Download here.
