No update for the my device her in Slovenia yet, checked manually, seems like the WW-tablets won't get it until later.. probably in a few days after it has been tested on the US devices?

Thanks for trying - honestly I don't know the answer to that atm... if you have a root explorer type file manager please check in /Cache, /Data, /Data/Data, it might even be on the root of the internal SD. I wish I knew the answer. I sincerely appreciate your willingness to help. :D

The only file I can find is dlpkgfile in the /cache folder.

It's the only file with today's date on my tablet.

Kind of looks like the update servers are getting hammered. Mine is sitting there spinning when I click "Check Update."

In SoCal...

In NYC, no notification and had to check manually. Update downloaded and applied without any issues. Wifi and BT performance seems unchanged for me. I can say that system performance has greatly improved. Even though I was not having the lockup/reboot issue I was definitely having some bizarre performance issues with apps and games that I should not have seen. These are all gone. So far so good. Will keep toying throughout the day to see if there are any other changes that are readily apparent.

Update: Ran my standard rounds of benchmarks and the results were very promising. Overall all benchmark scores have increased between 5% and 8%. Applications, particularly graphics intensive games, load MUCH quicker and perform much better as well.

Awesome thanks so much. I guess I'll be the guinea pig for people on 11.1 attempting to upgrade lol.

This is what I can only assume to be the OTA update. Someone smarter than I should check it out before installing.

The actual name of the file was dlpkgfile and had no extension.

It would not show up in windows 7 until i added in the zip extension.

It was found in the \cache folder.

update downloaded.. not rooted yet and have not proceeded with update.. should I root and use rootkeeper before updating? If the bootloader unlock is released then keeping root in not a issue right? Until that comes the only thing I see is doing the ad-hoc mod. I have already set my phone in a mode that works without doing that.. any other good reasons to root and maintain for now I should consider? thanks

If you want root then make sure to do it before the update then use voodoo to keep root. Otherwise they could have patched the hole to prevent rooting.

Update - Thanks to a few members who provided detailed information about their setups, application installs and other items we were able to replicate the sleep/battery drain issues affecting several users. We have a new firmware image going through qualification testing now and will present this to Google shortly for approval. At this point, if the firmware passes qualification testing, we should be able to release it early next week or sooner.

Because they don't know yet what it does fix, simples.

They're waiting for the results coming from the beta testers...US

    Really?

    9.4.2.13 US Release Notes -
    1. Fix Random Reboot / Lockup Problem (100% success in regression testing with returned units, hopefully the same in the community)
    2. Enable Google WideVine video rental in the US
    3. General Performance Enhancements - Usability and User Experience improvements
    4. Improved WiFi operation (for most users, still working on the WiFi/BT dropout fix that will not be assisted by the WiFi/GPS firmware updates)

My wifi is completely dead now.
    Won't even turn on.

Before buying this tablet all I ever heard about Asus is their great support for their devices...

    Yeah...
Growing a bit tired of this

Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk

Please PM with your setup and prior firmware release. This is the first and only report about dead WiFi out of 22K updates today so it could be something else causing the problem.

    Hi Gary,

Any chance of starting to provide changelogs for your updates? I imagine doing such a thing will greatly increase the quality of feedback you receive and make for quicker diagnosis of issues stemming from an update.

As it stands, it takes the community around a week collectively to notice what's been changed and where, which generates a lot of ill-feeling. Adding this layer of transparency will bring you closer to your user-base.

If any other forum users agree with this sentiment, click the thank button or quote me and add your own thoughts.

They fixed the double % error in the weather widget, not sure if anyone noticed. By Odin's beard that bugged the crap outta me!
