That's the samsung software update crap, not firmware update.
to the guy that asked how it compares to the other one well i can't compare because i read the comments about the other one and didn't bother with it, an ota would be more ready than a test-keys release.
its ok so far, google now is there AND s-voice. other than that it's business as usual, there are new options in settings like dormant mode and mode change for home screen at the top of settings, they may have been in the other one, i don't know.
in stock recovery l dont have ''apply update from internal storage'' option....only ''update from external storage''....and dont have one...how can l install ota /.Thanks!
OP UPDATED! CORRECT BASE ROM POSTED!

THIS SHOULD WORK FINE WITHOUT ANYTHING MODIFIED!
yep, its solved.
just downloaded a load of my paid apps no problem.
Succesfully updated here aswell. Installed BTU LG8 official ICS firmware. Full wipe. Installed CF-Root 6.4. Full wipe. Installed LH1 modem. Installed JB OTA update. Success..............
Oh yeah..... And removed the code from updater script myself before flashing.
code you need to remove from updater-script:
assert(file_getprop("/system/build.prop", "ro.build.fingerprint") == "samsung/m0xx/m0:4.0.4/IMM76D/I9300XXBLG8:user/release-keys" ||
file_getprop("/system/build.prop", "ro.build.fingerprint") == "samsung/m0xx/m0:4.1.1/JRO03C/I9300XXDLH4:user/release-keys");
assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "m0" ||
getprop("ro.build.product") == "m0");
Not sure if this is a silly question, but can I still use an "ICS" kernel like siyah with this, or would that break something?
