Slow phone

So my phones become really slow even after numerous rom changes, I don't have many apps but a while ago did have water damage on my phone. The charger port was broken so I got it replaced, since then my micro so card slot does not work correctly however. I was wondering whether this could have an effect on why my phone is slow or if that's probably a separate issue? Thanks

TL;DR - could water damage in the past be responsible for my phone being slow?

Thanks for the help but nevermind, it's sorted for now, also I searched some more online and it seems it's more likely to break completely than slow down! Thanks though
