The Great Gorilla Glass Fallacy
I have seen this same topic and or same question, asked on several different forums, "whats the best screen protector for my
blank
Its usually answered competently. But someone will ALWAYS answer this question with their own question, followed by this bit of a nonsense statement..." its gorilla glass, its scratch-proof so why would you waste your money !
Today I decided to make my voice heard, to try and dispel the myth once and for all!
What is the great myth of which I speak you ask? Pay attention friend and I shall enlighten you...
Gorilla Glass, though impact resistant, is NOT,I repeat NOT scratch proof....I have owned, and do currently own, devices with Gorilla glass. I have screen protectors on all past and present devices...Let me tell you why.
My 1st device with this glass was a Samsung galaxy. When I bought it I was looking at screen protectors but the salesman sold me on this new unbreakable, unscratchable glass.(he'd never heard of up selling I guess)
had it in my rear jeans pocket whilst I walked around for approx 1 hour. It was covered in fine scratches...And NO I did not sit on it, nor rub up against anything! The scratches were caused by simply rubbing up against my good ol made in the USA cotton Levi 501Blue Jeans.
Gorilla Glass is impact resistant, not unbreakable..resistant. And it will, and does scratch.
So unless your money grows on trees,I highly recommend protecting your investment with a screen protector. I highly recommend Wrapsol. It is as resistant and strong as a Zagg but without the orange peel affect
