What gets me is how deceptive the marketing is.
Look at the attached image. They don't even mention that the old Kindle Fire HD has a mic or a camera (it even says NONE which is a total lie), or that it has a micro HDMI which the HDX lacks. They're quick to point out all the pay services though, which figures seeing as they make no profit on the hardware per unit.
If it can't be fully broken then it's about as restricted as an iPad. Side loading apps in lieu of having a direct route to the Play Store just doesn't cut it.
