In several bada 2 Firmware you can find this attached folder in User...

Here it is taken from polish S8500CXLB3/S8500PLSLC1...

Maybe it is only deactivated... not removed...
No idea yet...
I'm not using this feature...

I have long time ago tried to log with WinComm in XXJL2... to understand what it is...
It seems not *.so file...

Maybe all necessary parts are in apps_compressd.bin...

Best Regards

I don't remember how it was presented in Bada 1.x but there are few things missing.
I remember the record button lol then there must missed something in so file but also strings in rsr files, images on rc1 rmb files, surely other things.

I never understand why they removed this option in Bada 2

Some Google search...

http://www.shazam.com/music/web/help.html
We support every major platform including iPhone, Android, Java, Symbian, Brew, Windows Mobile and RIM. Dedicated Shazam applications are available on the Apple App Store, BlackBerry App World, Ovi Store by Nokia, Android Market and Windows Marketplace.

Shazam is currently available to users in over 200 countries on a wide range of platforms.

Check out Get Shazam for more info.
We also offer a subscription based service called ShazamiD in the UK which is designed to work on any Java MIDP2 compatible phone that has voice recording capabilities including the Nokia N95, Sony Ericsson w880 and Samsung SGH L780.

I am too dumb to find on Shazam site... but Google is your friend:
ShazamiD
http://handheld.softpedia.com/progDownload/ShazamiD-Download-64034.html

ShazamiD enables users to find out what music is playing whenever and wherever they are.

ShazamiD is the world's leading music recognition mobile application. ShazamiD enables users to find out what music is playing whenever and wherever they are. The application takes a 10 second recording of the music, connects to Shazam to find a match and displays the result together with a picture of the album artwork and any products available to buy relating to that track. Users can share their music iD's (tags) as well as manage their list of tags within the application. Users can also see an aggregated chart (Tag Chart) of all the music people have been tagging using Shazam in the UK.

Limitations:

· 30 days trial

I have only short installed ShazamiD240-49.jar

But it seems Registration is mandatory...
Now I am toooooo lazy. :D

As for me this feature is not important...

My tests yesterday with "Find Tags" were successfully...
So something like MusicRecognation is integrated in bada 2... :p

I never understand why they removed this option in Bada 2

Maybe it is more clear... if you read about Shazam Service... :D
Maybe its again an Question about MONEY... as access to Servers mandatory...
Shazam Server with big Music Database...

Here it is ""funny"" as someone tried to make alternate JAVA Midlet...
http://www.redcode.nl/blog/2010/06/creating-shazam-in-java/
http://www.redcode.nl/blog/2010/07/patent-infringement/

Remember... bada is now more then 2 years old with Shazam MusicRecog...

Maybe the idea behind is limited... Maybe now alternate solution for money only.

Best Regards

It seems you can use Voice Recorder app...

It makes compatible MP3s, BUT...

"Funny Music" App not allow to use MP3s with Recorded Voice in Header...

Use HEX Editor... nuke Text Recorded Voice in Header...

Then Music App can handle this MP3 and Music Recognition work...

In bada 2 it is called Find Tags, see Pics...

Maybe solutions...
1.
Find App where you can record sounds in MP3...
Maybe something in store is available...

2.
Someone write bada App for record MP3 and store for Music App. :)

Again.

Summary.

Music App not allow to use recorded MP3s with Voice Recorder.
Because Header is blacklistet...
Recorded Voice ----- > this text string is blacklistet...

Only Samsung knows why...

I used Ringtone Pro to record from my PC and then saved the recording. It was able to recognize it :) Even if it was saved as AAC...

Found Text String in apps_compressed... XXLA1 for instance...

In FULL decompressed file you can find exact 1 hit:
Recorded Voice (as UNICODE)

In compressed part you can find RECORDED only once...
I'll try to change...

Maybe it is the part from Music app...
We will see. Later I'll post report...

Best Regards

Dirty quick test...

I have modified apps_compressed.bin from XXLA1...
Changed 1 Byte...

Now Voice Recorder app write Fecorded Voice instead Recorded Voice...

Now simple start Music app and now you can work with self recorded MP3.
And you have same Music Recognition like in bada 1...

Only you need 2 Apps...
So no Realtime.... :p

Maybe we find other solution too. To change Blacklist of "Recorded Voice" to use in more handsets... S8600 and so on...

Best Regards

This file is modified apps_compressed for S8500...
based on XXLA1.

Please read carefully... AT YOUR OWN RISK!

1.
You need unsecdload.fota
http://code.google.com/p/badadroid/downloads/detail?name=unsecdload.zip&can=2&q=

A.
Flash only FOTA file

B.
Activate special Bootloader... HOLD call + ON
You see Screen with bterm...

Same method like here:
http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=21623889&postcount=45

2.
But this time use this file. ;)
ONLY apps_compressed_MuS1.bin needed to flash.

File is here:

Important to flash modified apps_compressed is to bypass Security check from Bootloader...
With help of FOTA.

Flash FIRST FOTA only.

Only if you can manage to see this Screen on S8500, flash apps_compressed.bin...

Best Regards

Here is complete full steps away from that android thing :D

    Decrypt apps_compressed.bin with Wave Remaker
Open Decrypted file with Hex editior
    Search for this Hex value : 52 00 65 00 63 00 6F 00 72 00 64 00
    Corresponds to R.e.c.o.r.d.
    Change R letter to F
    search for this Hex value : 02 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 00 08 00 00 00 00 02 00
    change it to : 01 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 00 08 00 00 00 00 02 00

N.B : Both hex values above correspond to dots :D....Please focus on the Hex part this time and not the string one :D

Encrypt file with Wave Remaker and flash it

I hope it is easier now to understand :D

    Best Regards

P.S : The steps i didn't include from my old post you quoted are for activating FOTA for android booting for apps_compreesed.bin files that doesn't support FOTA so if you don't understand it just forget it :D

Instead only 1 app like in bada 1.x...
Now you need 2 apps... like bada 2.x :D

Maybe in bada 3.x then 3 apps needed. :)

Anyway. Now you can use Voice00x.mp3 with search Tags like in linked post visible...
