I had this last night with FE21. It would go through installing applications and then stop. I had to wipe the phone and go back to FE16.

I'm getting the roaming data notification (in notification bar) still when I dip out of Sprint's service area. Again, I have this setting to not stop me from roaming or to warn me. I've tried the turn off roaming, reboot, enable roaming, and that doesn't work either.

Tested it a couple times by going into and out of the elevator, which always triggers it.

Are others seeing this?

Edit: I still get roaming data, it just reminds me that I've lost data connection because I've started roaming -> the annoying part.

So. Cal.
I have images of sfhub in his workshop, while we all hover just outside wondering "is it soup yet?".
Newegg is putting HDDs on sale in honor of the man.
Thanks again, lets see if we can pick this one apart for the good of mankind.

The problem isn't that it roams, the problem is that it tells me that its going to roam. This shouldn't warn you every time you need to roam if you don't have a roam guard on. I don't think an app is needed to fix a bug. This has appeared and disappeared in several versions of the ICS builds along the way. They clearly do something to fix it, then something to unfix it and around and around it goes.

All-in-all, not a huge deal, but for completeness of reporting, I thought it should be reported.

Sfhub, what is it you do differently with your cwm modem zips vs calkulin? What I mean is, your release, the progress meter on the flashing screen moves as it should. I've seen a few of calkulin's flashes where there isn't any progress meter action. I don't know what goes on underneath the hood during this time, but I'm still curious. I'm guessing its a switch in the flash script to enable percentage complete displayed.

I don't think Calk has enabled the progress meter in the edify script.

There are statements you put into the script that tell the progress bar how to behave, like at this point you should be at X% or go Y% over the next N seconds. It works ok for larger updates (and I believe the tool that creates the updates inserts all the statements automatically), but for smaller files/updates, you kind of have to experiment a little.

I mainly put it in because the modem flash takes longer than most would expect and some people felt it was hanging, when in reality it was just taking a while (though sometimes it really was hanging)

Couple of small things - FE21/22 both gave an FC in android.phone upon startup; after that behaved okay. (In all fairness did a NoData update so could be that.) Also - to those who also noticed - the FC when cancelling a download is GONE as of FE21... and remained gone in FE22.

As it was said in the General forum these two are basically the same build; it could be that there wasn't enough of a change to have Android optimize the applications again.

All in all solid build. Can't wait to see what is coming out possibly soon....

sorry for the double post probs with my pc.

dont want to sound to spoiled but how about a one click with the plus kernel included. i know most people like myself install the oneclick then have to mobile odin the plus kernel with every release.

if you have the spare time, it would save alot of us some troubles .

thanks sfhub and thanks again lol

Anyone else notice that after flashing after the first reboot it does not go through the "Updating Android..." and counting off the applications?

So is that a bad sign? Every other leak counted off the apps after first reboot.
The updating apps progress information is for dalvik-cache being regenerated. Probably these builds are close enough that it didn't get triggered.

It does get triggered if you wipe dalvik so the functionality is still there.

Thanks Denys Vlasenko/chris41g for busybox, ChainsDD for su, Steady Hawkin/Calkulin for FD02+CWM-Rogue(repack),
    qbking77 for video, id10terror for Odin 1-click suggestions, mavd5831, RainMotorSports, sponge66 for mirror(s)

You may have heard... the zerglings fought a noble battle against the samdroids and held their own for many battles, but were finally defeated on the EL13 battleground. Starting with EL13 the zergrush exploit is plugged. Do not fear, as the zerglings have enlisted their old ally Odin to fight the next battle for them.

This One-Click ODIN contains the STOCK FE22 Modem/Kernel/ROM for the E4GT.

The ONLY change was the addition of ROOT to the ROM. NOTHING else was changed. If you made no other changes, you WOULD be able to install an OTA patch update (based off of FE22) on top of this w/o issues.

This will NOT trigger the Yellow Triangle NOR will it increment the ODIN flash count.

This does NOT have the issue with the USB jig being disabled.

This is equivalent to using the Auto Root Package on a stock ROM. In fact, if you used that package to UNROOT (Option B) this ROM then it would become 100% stock. After flashing this all functions of that package will be functional.

There are two versions provided, a FULL Restore that resets your whole phone, similar to a factory restore, and a No Data Restore, which is the same, except it preserves your User Data. The NoData version is only suggested if you are upgrading or remaining at the same version.

    attachment.php

Instructions - Video by qbking77 [ODIN One-Click / Install CWM]

    0) Backup anything important and Disable any PINs
This process will restore you to factory software. All your Android data will be reset.
To be safe, it is best to archive your backup off your phone, ie on your PC or dropbox.

Note #1: Please DISABLE any PIN code you may have created to protect your phone. As a security measure, after the flash, Android will ask you for your PIN, if you have one enabled. It is simpler to have no PIN active. If you forgot your PIN then, after the factory restore, just enter the wrong PIN a few times and it will warn you. Enter the wrong PIN again and it will reset the filesystem.

    1) Install Samsung USB/Android drivers (if necessary) [USB/Android]

    2) Download the FE22 full restore One-Click self-extractor
    SPH-D710.FE22_CL612283_ROOTED-oc-sfx.exe [Mirror1 / Mirror2 / Mirror3] (RESET user data)
    [MD5: 593f01182bc30255fc9bea45ee78ca06 / Size: 308,652,548]

    SPH-D710.FE22_CL612283_ROOTED_NODATA-oc-sfx.exe [Mirror1 / Mirror2 / Mirror3] (PRESERVE user data - do NOT use if downgrading versions)
    [MD5: 70a002b054c1ef9230ea27b5d657740e / Size: 307,672,543]

Mac/Linux - Install 7-zip, then use it to unpack the individual ODIN components in Reference Section B (below). If Heimdall fails flashing all 3 files together, try doing them individually. Skip the remaining instructions that are windows specific (steps 3, 4, 6).

Android - Install ZArchiver, then use it to unpack the ODIN OneClick 7zip self-extractor file in this section (long press *-oc-sfx.exe, Open as archive, Odin-OC, select *-OneClick.exe, Extract). Use Mobile ODIN to Open File the resulting *-OneClick.exe file. Mobile ODIN issue - modem might not flash consistently. Skip the remaining instructions that are windows ODIN specific (steps 3, 4, 5, 6).

    3) Extract the package
double-click on the self-extractor file, specify the directory to extract to (instructions assume C:\)

    4) Start ODIN One-Click
    Navigate to C:\Odin-OC
    Full: Double-click on SPH-D710.FE22_CL612283_ROOTED-OneClick.exe
    NoData: Double-click on SPH-D710.FE22_CL612283_ROOTED_NODATA-OneClick.exe

    5) Place phone in ODIN download mode
    Code:
    [B][U]Method #1[/U][/B]
    Power down phone
Wait for capacitative button [B]lights to turn off[/B]
Simultaneously [b]Press and Hold [Power] [VolDn][/b] until confirmation screen appears
Press [B][VolUp][/B] to enter Download mode
    Code:
    [B][U]Method #2[/U][/B]
    adb reboot download
    Code:
Connect USB cable to PC if not already connected
ODIN should show yellow COM port in 2nd column
Note #1: If you do not see a yellow COM port, you may need to run the ODIN One-Click as Administrator and/or unplug/plugin the USB cable after starting ODIN One-Click.

    6) Start ODIN flash process
    Press [Start]

    7) Complete - PASS!
When complete you should see a screen similar to what is shown at top of post
    Phone will automatically reboot
Status should change to green PASS!

Boot process will be slightly longer than usual during which time you'll see the 4G logo screen.

If you want CWM use Option D in the Auto Root Package to install FD02+CWM-Rogue (you are already rooted so Option A is not necessary)

If you need to clear NVRAM/Sprint data login info, perform a ##72786# reset from the Dialer and enter MSL.
Type getprop ril.MSL in adb shell or terminal to retrieve your MSL.

    For NoData install:
    - If you are getting random force closes, wipe cache/dalvik-cache
    - If you have troubles with Android Market, clear data from
    menu->applications->all->market->clear data
    - If you have troubles booting into Android, perform factory reset in ICS using the ODIN OneClick Factory Reset tool. Do NOT perform factory resets using stock recovery or privacy->reset, at least until you read about the EMMC superbrick/lockup bug and understand what the trigger points are and what you are exposing yourself to.

No UI to enable USB Mass Storage - Still Present
There is still no UI to switch from MTP mode to USB Mass Storage Mode. I think this is a mistake because many PCs do not support MTP or don't support it well. USB Mass Storage Mode allows your phone to show up as a USB drive when you plug it into a computer and is much better supported. Workaround and issue is covered in more detail here:

    Hey guys.
Made small zip files with my rom themes.
Can be flashed over stock or any other rom.
Made them for both Odexed and Deodexed roms.
    1.FE22_ICS_theme for odexed roms
    2.FE22_ICS_them for Deodexed roms.
    4
not certain how you do this. i reboot looks like stock recovery. usually (cwm) will say install disk. i get no option from that. i only get install update sdcard. i tried that and tried to install the zip. it gave me dead android with an exclamation on top of him. i had to pull the batt out.
The OneClick packages come with stock kernels/recoveries.

If you want to get the unlocked or plus kernels, you can use the Auto Root LITE package in the stickies or use Mobile ODIN to flash the zImage from the appropriate zip files in the 2nd post.

These are intended to be as close to stock as possible packages so I don't include the Plus or Unlocked kernels with the OneClick. It would also trigger the yellow triangle and increase the ODIN flash count, which some people don't like.

BTW you don't need to pull the battery. I forget which button, but one of them will bring you back to the menu. If nothing works, just press and hold the Power button for a long time, around 10 seconds and it will reboot.
