Have a Verizon GS4/SCH-I545. Build is MDK, JB 4.2.2. Device is rooted, OTAs are blocked, etc.

Want to change my ROM but don't want to lose root/unlocked bootloader. Also, SD card doesn't appear (i.e., this was before Samsung changed it, so any time I try to move an app to SD, the option doesn't even show. Any time I want to use ROM Manager to install a ROM from SD card, I can't even put it on the SD first).

Ideas on how to get a new ROM on my device without a) bricking b) losing root and c) losing bootloader? Should I use ODIN? Directions on how to do so without screwing it all up?
How do I get SD functionality (it reads media on the SD from when I pulled it from my old phone)?
Which is ROM is best (i.e., most functionality with fewest bugs) for my device?

Thanks

I can't say which ROM is the best. There r many good ROMs but depending on ur taste and style. I really don't like aosp so I dislike aosp ROMs but I love tw. So its up to u. But if u like tw hyperdrive is the best tw rom.

Yes like @decaturbob states....read up as much as u can and YouTube. Don't wanna brick ur mdk phone to have it replaced by a mk2 update.
