Can you share link for us ? And what we need for changing ?

(F U C K S O N Y) :D

Sorry I stopped using it a month ago, and the guy I downloaded it from closed his thread and broke his PLAY. I left because I missed My PS Games -_- . If you could do it yourself that would be great.
Here's a link for ICS on Arc http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1598072
I am NOT RESPONSIBLE if you brick your phone. As I said before, some things don't work and this ROM could fry your device (unless you underclock it very quickly). I don't advise this for inexperienced users.

Sony, you blew it badly. You just achieved to restore some confidence in your brand as an Android phone maker, I was advising my friends and family to buy your products, now I'll go back to recommending Nexus smartphones only.

No, it can't be on locked bootloader.
When someone would try it, he would be very careful.

If there was an XPERIA™ Play 2, I think it'd be called the XPERIA™ Game or XPERIA™ PlayHD©

---

Introducing the XPERIA™ PlayHD!

- Lightweight , 154g
- Slick Design
- The latest ICS firmware
- 1GB RAM
- 1.5 - 2.0GHz System
- SuperHD AmoLED Retina Display
- Over 100 Games Supported at launch!
- 8MP Camera
- XPERIA™ NXT UI. * (?) *
- Unlocked Boot loader
(never gonna happen)
- Rootable via Command Line

---

Wild assumptions :p

Not really surprised or disappointed.

Looking at this from a logical point of view, I'm kinda siding moreso with a "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." train of thought... we already witnessed firsthand that the upgrade came with sacrifices and compromises... leaving us with 2.3.4 didn't really do anything but save everyone a hassle. Less complaints filed for Sony, less of the devs having to stop working on new projects to patch older ones, and less of a waiting game on our consumer-side.

People that are willing to sacrifice their stability and software compatibility just to have the newest thing can already do so. The rest of use can stick to 2.3.X which works perfectly with everything.

My only real regret is not getting my hands on that sweet-looking new Game Launcher (which I'm willing to bet could just be ripped from the ROM and used without ICS).

I support your last claim. The new Game Launcher is really nice just like psp.You said that you could rip it out from the ICS's ROM and still working on 2.3.4? is that possible?

How about we all log in to Fb and twitter, and thank Sony on their twitter tag and on their Facebook page, for promising ICS and then cancelling

Twitter: https://twitter.com/#!/SonyXperiaID

Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sonymobile

Also take videos of our phones running ICS smoothly, with games working on it, and post it to the Sony Mobile Wall

Here's mine, posted just now:

https://twitter.com/gorgamin/status/207064451101360128

Will post a video to their page a little later today.

Also fill out this survey, maybe we can change their minds

Oh well. But man, the Play had so much potential for ICS, but there is a reason for roms, but official would've been better to say the least.

I'm glad I got my play unlocked a week before whats-his-name was given a cease and desist order by Verizon for giving out unlock codes. I got it because I was naive and I wanted the "Playstation Phone". If I remember correctly, though, somebody made quite a bit of headway for those of you that have locked bootloaders. Lemme try and find it...

EDIT: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1390771 <- Its headway.
EDIT2: IDK if it would work though.

i was chatting with sonymobil support too, and they told me that there will be no update for Xperia Play.

I was asking for Playstore too, but they will not provide any information about this.

http://www.sonymobile.com

enter the Chat and ask for ICS update, i think if a lot of user will do that, they need to do something

2.3.7 ?

Sent from my R800x using XDA

Yeah, Verizon is about a year behind everyone else on android, and when we finally got 2.3.4, it was so bad that Verizon scrapped it, at least I think that's what they did, because I haven't had the OTA update warning pop up in weeks now.

Although I am disappointed to hear that there will be no ICS release, I do understand their reasons. Especially as VZ was never going to release it anyway.

At this point I would much rather see Sony work hard on a Xperia PLAY 2. My contract ends in 6 months and I do not want to replace my phone unless it has a game pad as I really dislike touch screen gaming. So again, I would rather at this point Sony works on a replacement or this phone.

Am I saddend, yes. But I would like to thank Sony and Sony Ericcson for their hard work in attempting to make ICS work with our phone. They have been extremely good to use users firmware update wise compared to other companies. So again. THANK YOU SONY for your efforts and for being honest with the Xperia PLAY community. I do hope that there is a Xperia PLAY 2 in the works....

Sony is telling us that we waited 6 months for them to figure that the upgrade will not work. 6 months of teasing, delays, preview videos..and then just give us the finger. Thats not cool sony.

They did the same with the x10 and gingerbread but they where just been lazy... then they released it 1 year later.

Sony, if the reason for not releasing was the pstore or the crappy playstation stuff...then get rid of them. If you are not going to support it anymore then what do you care if 3 lame psx games work. i bet all the gameloft games work, they still work on my G1.

I did get this phone because of the ICS update promise i wanted to have a future proof phone. Sony you disappointed me in more than 3 products.

ICS is not only for devices with 1gb+ ram. There are many Devices out there wichhave less and ICS runs awesome on them.
