thanks man got that part down i got it to the red exclamtion part but it wont let me install recovery-mac.sh

It will only work with Toasts ROM or branches of it, but if you followed my guide, you should be running it.
Try opening up a terminal, "cd" to the folder you have all the files and type "./adb-mac shell"
If that creates a new line waiting for input, you should be good. If it doesn't, then that means the Evo is not properly connected to your Mac.

Each time I try to install the Android SDK and AVD manager on my windows 7 64bit system, It comes up with this error:

"Failed to fetch URL https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository/repository.xml, reason: HTTPS SSL error. You might want to force download through HTTP in the settings."

anyone knows what this is and how I can fix it?

thanks

p.s I did the Unrevoked method but I cannot get the EVO to boot into recovery mode from the ROM Manager app. I am assuming that there isn't a recovery section on my phone.

Your help will be appreciated. thanks

Thanks this was the easiest guide I finally bit the bullet.
You are very welcome, I'll have an updated guide soon.
Enough has advanced to make things even easier (but of course, more decisions on roms)

"Failed to fetch URL https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository/repository.xml, reason: HTTPS SSL error. You might want to force download through HTTP in the settings."

Most likely to do with firewall or windows blocking SSL, easiest way to fix is just do what it says, turn it off. :)

Click settings, and check "Force https:// ... sources to be fetched using http://..."
