Guyz, if i root my stock rom, use root explorer to move the file from the bin folder to app folder, and change the permission as mentioned, is it alright rather than flashing it? Or is there any other files to move as well?

Most likely HTC will fix this in upcoming RUU, but still some users might want to have it as fast as possible. Due to many problems about "how to fix that myself?" I made 2 cwm recovery flashable packages:

1. Stock NvCPLSvc.apk moved from system/bin to system/app
2. Re-signed NvCPLSvc.apk moved from system/bin to system/app

If you have problems with version nr 1 - flash version nr 2.

Download:

nVidia_T3_Fix_v.0.2_re-signed.zip

Changelog:

0.1 - initial release
0.2 - removed the shared uid from AndroidManifest (Thanks to theintelligent for great idea!)

thanks very much!!

Just wondering, am I the only one with a one x that doesn't overheat? In the first few days it would hit 45-47 degrees when stressed. Now it idles around 23 degrees and doesn't go over ~40 degrees even when stressed with shadowgun thd. Riptide for example doesn't go over 36.

I do have the fix working btw, but the temp was already fine before it.

Running Leedroid's rom btw

how long did you have your phone? maybe its gets better as the battery settles in

mine is still 3 days old and T3 is a hot chip working at its max @40nm, but some times a perfect yield chip come outs of the oven

so people like you will be the rarity not the majority ;) most of us will have

Been 9 days now. It definitely got better over time. Is there anything that particularly gets it really hot? Wanna test it out.

Edit: also, me getting lucky? Lolz, never happend before, not gonna happen now

Hate to be this guy, Mike, but for some reason it still won't work...

I've tried both packages, twice (I just flashed them through CWM 5.8.2.7, didn't wipe /cache or Dalvik, I assume this is done by the script), rebooted, checked both /data/dalvik-cache (system@app@NvCPLSvc.apk@classes.dex isn't there) and "Running Applications", and couldn't find it working. I tried rebooting again, but no dice.

I'm lost! Any other ideas?

I install the package and i see the NvCPL Service Running and using 3mb of my memory :D !

See this !

Just curious, why is this zip working on a stock ROM, whereas moving from one location to another (with Delvik wipe) not working? What's the difference?

EDIT: "removed the shared uid from AndroidManifest". This is the only difference, but it now works.

How to check if it is working properly?

Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium

You go to settings->applications and look under "opened" (dont know what it should say in english, the third)
You should see NvCPL Service if it is working properly

It wasn't even fixed it was proved it did nothing, a mod needs to close this.
