Hi everyone.

I bought the Asus Memo Pad HD7 Dual Sim ME175KG tablet and I'm looking for a safe way to root it.
It runs on Android 4.3 and i want the ability to unroot it when and if i want to use the device's warranty.

I Already tried VRoot and KingoRoot and those didn't work on my tablet.
Can anyone please help me with rooting this device?

I'm CONSTANTLY getting these damn “Insufficient storage available” and "out of space" errors when i try to install or update an app and i seriously need to root my tablet to fix this issue.

Any help would be much appreciated.;)

Good Luck:good:

Hi. I had this issue with my s2. I had to fully wipe and reinstall. What recovery are you using ?
How much internal memory is available/used in storage?

I don't know about the recovery part i'm using the stock rom that came with the tablet.

It uses Android 4.3 Kernel Version 3.4.0-gd429eac And it's Build number is JSS15J.WW_epad-10.12.11.3-20140122

Also i have 2.5 GB Free space on the internal storage and 5 GB free on the SD Card..

Someone said that i would have to unlock it's bootloader to be able to root it. Is it true?

Good Luck.:good:

Hi again, I found this thread.

http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2503668

and this one

http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?p=43108667

No My problem is that i cannot root it...

Thanks , But those two topics are for ME173 Version of this tablet which is totally different , it has android 4.2 and no sim support..

Based on a few tutorials on the net , I should get an Apk file on the Asus website named "UnLock_Device_App_V7.apk" to unlock its bootloader , but on the support page for this tablet here :

http://www.asus.com/supportonly/ASUS MeMO Pad HD7 Dual SIM/#support_Download

There isn't anything like that. Just Firmwares , Source Codes and Manuals..

Good Luck.

It is possible to unroot, I found this...

'For everyone who want's to ROOT or UNROOT his device check out Framaroot.apk USED and ROOTED it with superSU!

There are a lot of uTube Videos. Check them out!'

My apologies, I didn't check the model, I'm unfamiliar with the Asus. I checked google and all I can see are chinese sites. I think its just too new at the moment. One of the devs can maybe help further :( Sorry for wasting your time..

I did try google "UnLock_Device_App_V7.apk" and found a dowload site that has it (http://d-h.st/pLH) im not sure if it is trustworthy. Up to you if you want to try..

Of course you didn't need any apologies!

But... So Sad! I Got the "Out of space" Error while trying to install Framroot App Too..:(

Also Tried The Latest Version Of Vroot and UnlockRoot Pro Again.. No Success.

Thanks , But This is the first line of that topic :

Edit: Motochopper hasnt worked for a long time.

The motochopper root method worked for a while until asus fixed the exploit with an update. I was the one who found that it worked on the TF300T.

I dont have your tablet.

I've used vroot for my Note 3. I've heard that Kingo works for most devices. (All the settings need to be just right - including screen timeout, etc.)

framaroot works for older devices.

as for the unlocking tool, at least for the TF300T, the latest version is v8, while you posted a link to v7. asus hosts it on their website, but the unlocking tool will void your warranty. (unless you live in an area that has laws allowing you to unlock without voiding warranty.)

the chinese websites seem to say that root has not been achieved yet, but i have only done a quick look.

good luck...

Can you tell me more about the KingoRoot Settings?

Thanks.

Can you tell me more about the KingoRoot Settings?

First you want all your drivers installed beforehand.

Theres the standard stuff like enabling USB debugging and enabling non-market apps.

Kingo (and vRoot) also needs a long screen timeout setting, so set it to maximum (usually 10 minutes). you can also change the developer settings to not turn off the screen when plugged in (enable Stay Awake).

This is because you need to interact with the phone to allow the install, and it wont happen if its asleep.

I've had more success with vRoot than kingo (sometimes kingo just stays at the installing drivers screen), but they pretty much work the same. vRoot is annoying as it is all in chinese, and a bit of a pain to fully remove and switch to supersu. Also i've heard that it sends your IMEI to the developers.

Edit: Oh, and always use a USB 2.0 port on your computer.

I did all of this the frist time , Kingo root restarted my tablet 5 - 6 times and took about 7-8 Minutes , and finally said it was a failure!
I also tried 2 versions of Vroot and Unlock Root Pro and didn't succeed with either of them.
I will put my tablet on charge over the night , and in the morning when it had a full battery i'll give KingoRoot another shot ;)

Thanks.

Downloaded a fresh new version of KingoRoot , Did all the steps right, My tablet got restarted 6-7 times again and in the end i got an error :

ROOT Failed!
NeedRoot

:(

Here is a screenshot :

Nothing appears on my tablet's screen during the process , is it supposed to do that? because with Vroot an app installs and runs on the device while you're trying to root it..
